One such magical event happens this year over a large swath of the United States. The upcoming new moon solar eclipse in Aries on April 8th will be visible for a specific section of the United States. But remember, even if you aren’t physically viewing this eclipse, its energy will be strongly felt. This eclipse occurs at 11:20 am PST, so set a timer and tap into your intuition around that time if you’re able.
This is the second total solar eclipse to cross over the United States in less than 7 years. You might remember the last one that happened on August 21st, 2017. That one was in the sign of Leo, and unsurprisingly, there was a lot of media coverage! Businesses closed early, and people had viewing parties throughout the country where the eclipse was able to be witnessed.
It seems significant that there’s now another eclipse path of totality making its way across the country in a relatively short period of time. Here’s what you need to know about where and how to see the upcoming total eclipse in Aries.
Eclipses can last anywhere from a fraction of a second to 7 and a half minutes long. So, even at their longest, they are rare occurrences that are never even 10 minutes at a time! They’re very quick-moving celestial phenomena, and their brevity is, at least in part, what makes them so magical to witness firsthand.
This year’s Aries eclipse will last about twice as long as the one that could be viewed in the United States back in 2017. While the one back then was about two and a half minutes, this one will last for about 4 and a half minutes.
The 2017 eclipse that crossed the US ran from the northwest to the southeast of the country. But this “Great American Eclipse” happening on April 8th runs from the southwest to the northeast of the country. It enters Mexico and then crosses through central Texas, the southeast of Oklahoma, central Arkansas, southeast Missouri, southern Illinois, southern Indiana, and northwest Ohio. Then, it crosses Lake Erie and Ontario, Canada, where it moves across the US/Canada border with Toronto and Montreal at the outer edges of the path.
Dallas, Texas, looks to be one of the best cities in the country to view the eclipse because it is close to the center line of viewing the eclipse. It will happen in the afternoon, and almost the entirety of the eclipse (close to five minutes) should be able to be witnessed. If you’re not near Dallas, though, there are several other cities worth visiting to be able to experience this eclipse in real life! And as much as being along the path of totality is important for the length of your viewing, you might also want to consider the town’s ability to withstand potentially thousands of tourists arriving for the big event.
A small town is likely to be less crowded than an already busy city. Traffic is likely to be an issue in the more populated places that the eclipse is crossing, but if you choose a place that’s more under the radar, you could have a more peaceful experience.
As ever, trust your intuition. If you happen to live in one of the cities that the eclipse is crossing– lucky you! You might be able to step outside and view it from your very own front porch. Otherwise, these are some of the best United States cities for viewing the April 8th eclipse in Aries this year:
To view a total eclipse in person is a rare and extremely potent event. It’s impossible not to feel the eerie magic of the sky going dark during the day. The birds stop chirping and a silence descends that is hard to describe unless you’ve witnessed one personally. Being in the path of an eclipse tends to foretell major changes up ahead.
Physical Safety Precautions
It’s important to remember the physical implications of viewing an eclipse. You should never stare directly at the sun and should always wear protective lenses if you’re viewing an eclipse. You can purchase special eclipse glasses that have an extremely dark tint so you can view an eclipse safely. It’s important to know that sunglasses are NOT the same as eclipse glasses, so it’s worth ordering a pair online.
Outside of your eyes, regular sun protection (sunscreen, hats, etc.) is highly recommended as well. The rays will only be obscured for a few brief moments, so your usual sun protection is still appropriate.
Spiritual Viewing
If you live in or are visiting one of the cities that the eclipse will be crossing this year, you’re in luck! How magical to be able to witness something so rare and special in this lifetime. While physical safety will be an extremely important factor, of course, once you’ve ensured your body is protected, you might consider some spiritual aspects of viewing an eclipse as well.
If you work with crystals and/or astrology we have several tools available to support you during this Aries season, which is the sign where this total solar eclipse is occurring. There is no “right” or “wrong” crystal to use during an eclipse, but you might find ones that align with Aries energy to be especially powerful at this time. Otherwise, choose your favorite and keep it close while you experience the eclipse. Then afterward, you will know that it has been imbued with the same powerful energy you experienced.
Astrology, like life, happens in cycles. There are some things that are true every single year: the seasons change outside, we grow older…and eclipses happen!
While astrology is never meant to create fear, eclipses are unfortunately one of the regular happenings that tend to make people nervous. If you research eclipses, especially just quickly on social media, you’ll read all sorts of things. “Do not manifest! Do not go outside under the eclipse rays!” But I don’t believe in taking such black-and-white approaches to astrology or to life. I believe the best way to handle eclipses is to simply stay present, practice grounding techniques, and trust the Universe.
Eclipse season this year is March 19th-April 21st 2024, and if those dates feel familiar, it’s because this year it happens to coincide with Aries Season! Everything means something in spirituality, and because eclipse season overlaps with the astrological new year, we can intuit that it’s going to be an especially powerful and energetic time full of momentum.
If leading up to these dates (especially early March) you felt a bit lost, or like you couldn’t see what was coming, but felt things preparing to shift…you’re right on time. Pisces season is always about surrender, and that’s never been more true than in 2024 with the North Node in Aries and eclipse season right around the corner.
Eclipse seasons are always powerful periods of change and revelation. While the eclipses are the highlights, we have the entire 34-day period to embrace the energies of Lunar Nodes and harness their energies. Eclipses open portals for us to step through and make exponential life changes.
The North Node pulls society's energy in one direction, signaling where we are headed as a collective. It holds the lessons humanity is learning and integrating during a specific period. The North Node's position in Aries places an emphasis on the self. This position helps us focus on how we can help the collective by prioritizing our soul’s purpose.
The South Node is what we are leaving behind as a society, particularly the lower vibrations of the sign involved. It is what the collective is evolving away from and often represents vibrations we have already mastered as a society. The South Node in Libra highlights how certain relationships have held us back. It also illuminates injustices in our system and how the collective has been attached to them.
We each have a personal North and South Node along with the collective nodal positions. The placement of our North Node shows us where we are headed in our personal evolution and highlights the lessons we are here to learn in this lifetime. We often resist these energies early in life, but we soon find they are the key to understanding our life's purpose and karmic path.
The position of our South Node shows the energies we've come into this world already knowing. It is our place of comfort, but also the place that can block our evolution if we become attached to its familiarity. Our job in this lifetime is to walk from South to North Node, leaving behind the known and mastering the unknown. This is where eclipses happen.
Eclipse Season is the perfect time to make steps on your nodal path. It’s a time to detach from the energies of your South Node while embracing the energies of your North Node. During Eclipse Season, great revelations occur that can help you shift your perspective and your attachments. Be open to downloads of energetic information during this entire season. Spend time in mediation and be open to hits of insights coming your way. Be open to the Universe revealing things to you. Some of these revelations may be shocking initially, but they will soon help you transition to a new version of yourself. Take care of your nervous system, though, and align with nature to ground you during any chaotic times.
The Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Libra: Monday, March 25th
The first eclipse of 2024 lands in the sign of Libra at 5°07 on Monday, March 25th, 2024 at 12:00 AM PT. If you have any planets or points between 3° and 7° of the cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn) you’re likely to feel this eclipse on a personal level.
But remember, eclipse energy is much stronger than typical New or Full Moons…so even if this one isn’t hitting your chart specifically, you could still feel the energy swirling around you and might notice big themes unfolding for the important people in your life.
This Eclipse can help you realize that in order to love yourself, it’s time to let a particular partnership go. Eclipses tend to both remove things from our life and bring other things in, and Venus in Pisces can point to dissolving a relationship for the betterment of the whole/for the future.
It’s important to receive any information coming through now with clarity and open arms, because the next eclipse in this series will include a Mercury retrograde. Things are unlikely to be as direct and concise a couple weeks from this point.
Another way to contextualize this eclipse is to think back to what was happening for you around Saturday, October 14th last year. This was when the New Moon in Libra occurred, so you might notice themes that began back then coming full circle.
Learn more about this Lunar Eclipse in the Libra Lunar Eclipse Workbook, which contains more information on your South Node placements and how to detach from their lower frequencies with this Eclipse.
The New Moon Total Solar Eclipse in Aries: Monday, April 8th
The second eclipse of 2024 lands in the sign of Aries at 19°23 on April 8th, 2024. If you have any planets or points between 17° and 21° of the cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn) you’re likely to feel this eclipse on a personal level.
This New Moon is a Total Solar Eclipse, viewable from much of North America. It is the highlight of the astrological year and will be felt across the world for weeks before and after its occurrence.
Mercury will be retrograde in Aries at the same time of this lunation…which can lead to especially confusing and frustrating energies running rampant. While New Moons are typically a time of planting seeds for the future, it’s best to set intentions only if you feel crystal clear. The Aries Eclipse Workbook has guidance on how and when to set intentions with this Eclipse and Mercury retrograde.
The days around this lunation will be prime time for letting intuition take the lead for how to move forward. Things are highly unlikely to make sense on paper, or be moving forward in a linear fashion. And that’s okay! While it might feel obscured, trust that there is work happening behind the scenes.
Rather than moving forward with anything publicly, take some time internally to process the whispers of your soul about the next steps you need to take. For added insights, look back to April 19th, 2023, when we last experienced an eclipse in Aries. There might be similar themes beginning for you around this time.
Learn more about this Eclipse, how to view it, and tips for navigating this powerful energy in the Aries Season + Total Solar Eclipse Workbook. There are also horoscopes based on your North Node, including how to embrace the energy waiting for you with this Solar Eclipse.

Whether you’re excitedly awaiting Valentine’s Day or couldn’t care less, February 2024 is full of some intense Pluto connections that will have all of us plumbing to the depths of our connections. Because Pluto is now in Aquarius, every planet that enters its domain will first have to go through the powerful planet– promoting deep truth and unapologetic transformation if we’ve veered off course.
Venus is in Capricorn the first half of February, and will enter Aquarius on February 16th. That means for the entire month, Venus will be in Saturn ruled signs. This speaks to wanting longevity in our bonds– and these horoscopes can help you find it.
And if you’re manifesting love in your life right now (or just want to know how to deepen your current relationships) we’re offering a special Valentine’s Day discount on our Astrology + Relationships Course!
Keep reading to uncover the secrets that your Venus sign, one of the most important planets in relationship astrology, wants to share.
Venus in Aries
As the very first sign of the zodiac, your love style is...urgent. The Venus in Aries person is at risk of falling in love fast, hard, and often. While you’re no stranger to steamy relationships, long standing relationships might not be your strong suit. There’s simply so much excitement in that beginning, honeymoon stage that sticking around can feel like a bore. It’ll be important for you to keep long-term relationships spicy and full of new, exciting things to create together.
Venus in Taurus
If your Venus is in Taurus, slow and steady wins the race. While it might take you longer than others to meet a potential long term partner, once you decide on that special someone, you’re in it for the long haul! You’re extremely devoted and need to be weary of staying longer than you should in relationships that may have run their course. You also have a deep desire to be surrounded by nice things. You’re attracted to dating affluent people, eating really great food, and indulging in a Netflix and chill night under the most luxurious of blankets. Love is all about comfort for you and once you’ve found it you’ll keep coming back for more.
Venus in Gemini
A Gemini Venus placement means you just might be the biggest flirt of the zodiac…but, of course, it will depend on the day! Thanks to Mercury, you have the gift of gab and enjoy chatting with suitors about anything and everything. But when will you ever decide to commit to just one? Of course it’s possible, but like Venus in Aries, you will need to be kept entertained. You’re likely a big fan of music and might even meet many of your connections through music related events. You have a logical mind and extreme amounts of charm, and will expect your suitors to be able to keep up.
Venus in Cancer
If your Venus is in Cancer, you are the truest lover. You’re empathetic, possibly to a psychic degree, with the ones you hold most dear. You can feel things before you even understand what they mean. Your challenge with this placement is to know when to pull back, and to also learn how to assert yourself within relationships. Smothering the people you care about is a risk with this Venus sign placement, but it’s ultimately about finding the people that deserve your nurturing. The people in your life will count their lucky stars to know a love like yours…and if you’ve ever been loved by someone with this placement, you can know it will never be forgotten.
Venus in Leo
With a Venus in Leo placement in the birth chart, you love love and want everyone to know when you’ve been bitten by the love bug! Venus in Leo is loud and proud and wouldn’t dare to hide the beauty of their most important bonds. It was most likely a person with this placement who decided “PDA” would be a thing. It’s important for you to receive validation in love, and knowing your love language will be a key to ensuring that happens. You’re also a fierce protector of those you care about, treating those lucky people in your life like the lion cubs of your pack. If you have a more private partner, there will likely be compromises needed around what’s just for you, and what’s for the world’s stage.
Venus in Virgo
“How can I help?” is the question that every Venus in Virgo person brings to a love relationship. You place utmost importance on routine and structure and appreciate the rhythms of a long term relationship. While Venus is technically in its “fall” in this sign, that doesn’t mean doom and gloom. Just take note of when you’re picking partners based on their potential, rather than who they are in the present moment. You bring wonderful, grounded support to your relationships, but it’s impossible to edit people the same way you edit a blog post.
Venus in Libra
Libra needs a partner like a fish needs water! Whether romantic or platonic, you like to have another person by your side as you take on life. Like with Venus in Taurus, you might even be likely to stay in relationships past their expiration date...simply because you appreciate doing things in a pair. Remember that you should always be “self partnered” first, and that will attract mates that can keep your life balanced. You’re also attracted to art and creative types of all kinds, so if you’re single, don’t be afraid to loiter around your local museum in your favorite fit.
Venus in Scorpio
The Venus in Scorpio person desires power in relationships and wants to be deeply involved with the closest people in their lives. You want to know everything that’s going on with your lover...you want to hold all their secrets and desires. Because of Pluto’s power of your love life, be aware that you can come off as intimidating to people. It’s also important for you to question the role that control plays in your most important dynamics. Reading 50 Shades of Grey at book club is one thing, but if manipulation starts to steer the ship of your romantic life, remember the importance of release.
Venus in Sagittarius
Long distance relationship, anyone? With Sagittarius ruling over love in your birth chart, it’s extremely likely that your romantic life will include far flung getaways. If you’re not the one traveling, it’s likely that your partner is involved with something overseas (maybe they’re from another country or do business abroad). And of course like Aries and Leo, your love life is generally fiery and passionate! Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter, so like Pisces, boundaries might be another important keyword for you in love. You want romance to feel like an adventure.
Venus in Capricorn
Capricorn is ruled by Saturn and, as ever, Saturn means business! In the love department, you’re looking for a true partner. You want someone that can climb any mountain life puts in front of you hand in hand. You’ll be curious about potential partner’s work ethics and what they bring to the table...literally and figuratively! Try to not be too rigid in what you’re looking for in the love department. No one is perfect, even you! Let yourself lean into play in your relationships...you shouldn’t have to work too hard in love.
Venus in Aquarius
Aquarius is innovative and hyper focused on progressing humanity. This is a logical air sign energy, which isn’t exactly a lovey dovey placement for romance! However, you have a lot of love to offer the collective and bright ideas that strike you when you least expect it. You’re creative and appreciate new ways of looking at the world...and probably have some creative ideas for relationships and the boundaries they should (or shouldn’t) exist within. How can your unique views around love and values teach us all something new.
Venus in Pisces
Pisces, like Cancer, is a very traditionally romantic placement for a Venus sign to reside. Ruled by Neptune however, there can be a risk of smoke and mirrors being involved. While love comes easy, it is most certainly not always what it seems– boundaries are a major keyword to ensuring this Venus placement stays happy. Lean into your extremely intuitive abilities and pay close attention to dreams you have about romantic interests. Let the unconscious mind lead and trust that you have a never ending supply of love to share with the world.
Did your Venus placement horoscope resonate with you? How about your BFF’s sign, your siblings, or your partners? If they did and now you’re curious to learn more about relationship astrology, we’re offering a special Valentine’s Day discount on our Astrology + Relationships Course. ]]>Every planet in our solar system stations retrograde at some point within an 18-month period. You may already be familiar with the dreaded Mercury retrograde, which happens three times a year on average. The other planets don’t station retrograde as frequently, but they do spend some time traveling backward in our sky. This backward motion is simply an optical illusion created by the differing orbital rates of each planet.
Planets in retrograde are not actually traveling backward, but they appear to be to our eye. It's the cosmic equivalent of traveling on a train and beginning to pass another adjacent train. The train you pass appears to move backward for a split second until the train you are on overtakes it. When the Earth aligns with a planet, it appears to move backward until one of them speeds ahead.
Even if they are an optical illusion, retrogrades still cause energetic shifts in our lives and emotions. This highlights the power of our perceptions and beliefs.
Retrogrades tend to spin the energy of a planet inward. They often cause delays, misdirection, and confusion– especially Mercury retrograde, which rules communication and is therefore susceptible to all kinds of hijinks!
But the Universe never does anything by accident, or to punish us. Retrogrades instead provide an opportunity for us to re-process and integrate past information. The slippery slope can begin, however, when they’re allowed to prevent us from moving into the future because of their energetic encouragement to look back. With no retrogrades in sight for a couple months, we have an opportunity to make significant changes in our lives, manifest anything we desire, and grow exponentially. This is a wonderful opportunity, and when we harness the energy correctly, things can happen at lightning speed.
All planets direct: January 27th - April 1st, 2024
Every year we’re gifted a few precious months when all the planets in our solar system are moving forward, meaning there are no retrogrades to contend with at all. Every planet (besides the luminaries, the Sun and the Moon) spends time in retrograde motion– some for only a few weeks, and some for several months at a time.
But, come January 27th (or the 26th, depending on your timezone) Uranus stations direct and thus initiates a golden period where all planets are moving forward. This window of momentum and opportunity occurs from January 27th - April 1st, 2024, when Mercury will station retrograde in Aries.
The next two months are like a cosmic greenlight. The Universe is gifting us with a burst of energy and direction to quicken our evolution and growth.
Working with Direct Planetary Energy
As we move through this period, it’s important to remember that everything in your life will happen at a rapid pace. This energy can feel exciting and overwhelming all at the same time. To align with the potential of this cosmic greenlight, it's essential that you stay grounded in your body through practices like meditation and yoga. It can be very easy for your mind to spin out of control when viewing the various options and possibilities available to you at each moment. Commit to practices that help you stay connected to your body and breath to fully utilize the cosmic energy available to you.
It's also important to have clear intentions about what you want to manifest at this time. Anything is available if you commit to cultivating that energy in your life. Spend some time journaling and reflecting on what changes you wish to usher into your world. Would you like a new job? Or maybe a new home? Or perhaps you're getting ready to launch a new product or business and want to place your focus on developing ideas in this area. The sky's the limit here. Know that any vision you have can turn into a reality. You always have the Universe’s full support of your growth and evolution…but during February and March, there’s an added push.
Whatever you choose to focus on, be clear about it to yourself and the Universe. Remind yourself each day of your long-term visions through affirmations or mantras. If you feel that you're getting lost in a sea of options or that you can't find your inner compass, return to practices that ground you. At times it may feel that you are being pulled in many directions because of the cosmic energy surrounding you. If you feel confused at any point, anchor yourself in the present moment with your breath and intentions that remind you what is most important right now.
Another source of confusion may be the many opportunities coming your way. You may be compelled to say yes to everything because it is exciting and presents potential. You may even feel that you have the energy right now to do it all. While this can be an exciting time of growth, it's important not to overextend yourself. While you might want to jump at every opportunity right now, try to pace yourself and think long-term.
How will you feel this summer about the things you’re saying yes to over the next couple months? Some of these opportunities may be in the short term, and for those, it will be easier to make decisions you can follow through to completion. Some, though, will be in the long term, and it's these opportunities that will be the most important for your sustained growth. Make sure these yeses are resounding to your intuition. Be aware that everything will have an exciting spin to it right now, but that glimmer may wear off when the retrogrades of summer begin.
Rituals for Direct Planetary Energy
When all the planets are direct, it’s a great time to honor them for, quite literally, doing their highest and greatest good in your life. While the planets are always supporting us, direct motion helps us feel extra cushioned because each planet’s energy is at its most high functioning.
Every planet signifies different areas of life, so a nice way to honor their support is to choose an area or two of your life that feels especially helpful during February and March. You can then set up an altar to thank the associated planet, and/or take any of the actions suggested below:
Now that all the cosmic bodies are in forward motion, and not to mention Pluto being in Aquarius… the future is calling you.
The path to your highest vision is likely to be more clear the next couple months, with no retrogrades causing obstacles or backward movement. This period is inspiring and hopeful, so enjoy it to the fullest. Just remember to get clear about your intentions, express gratitude, and know that anything is possible.
]]>As a collective, we are stepping out of a universal seven year (2 + 0 + 2 + 3 = 7) to a universal eight year in 2024 (2 + 0 + 2 + 4 = 8).
Numerical energy moves in different directions. One begins the cycle by moving straight, like an arrow. The energy then comes together from two directions to form the number two. It splits again, moving outward to form three. It then comes back together in an organized matter to form four, the foundation. It then moves in a new, destabilizing direction to form five. It re-grounds itself to form six, having acquired new energy. It then goes more deeply inward to integrate this new energy to form seven, where it will then find its strength again to form eight, a new power.
2023 was a time of introspection. The seven vibration encourages inward contemplation, self-discovery, and revelations. It was a time to plan the future through meditation, journaling, and visualization exercises. 2023 brought many changes to people’s lives because they realized who they were and what they wanted. Many relationships dissolved, while others came together. It was a time to shed anything that did not resonate with your core self. We got to know ourselves on a deeper level this year and we could feel the future we truly desired. 2024 is the year to take action and create that future.
Eight represents our infinite personal power. This is the year to integrate everything you have learned, discovered, and built over the last seven years. It’s the culmination of your energetic evolution since 2017 to find your true power and stand in it. This is the year to break through anything holding you back from what you know is yours. It’s a time to feel the life you want to live and claim it. As you align with the eight vibration recognize the life that is within reach and then take action to reach for it. This year is your opportunity to find success as you define it and embody your highest potential.
This is also a year to commit to what you want. It’s a time to have a clear vision formed from the lessons of 2023. You know who you are, you know what you want, you can see the future you desire. It’s time to commit to it then take the big and small steps needed to materialize it. Eight is about materialization and manifestation. It’s also associated with abundance. This year brings you the opportunity to create abundance in every area of your life, bringing true balance to all of them.
When we look at the eight, we see a symbol of infinity. Eight represent the infinite and reciprocal nature of the Universe. It reminds us that everything we desire, we are already connected to, and what we send out, we bring back it. The number eight also represents balance. This year brings the opportunity for you to balance all areas of your life and up-level each of them. It’s a time to feel successful at work while thriving in your home life. The eight vibration can help you create aligned relationships while prioritizing self-care. This is year to know you can have it all. You do not have to choose. There is no “this or that” there is only “this and that” while knowing you can have abundance in it all.
Here are some tips on how to work with universal vibration in your life to claim your power.
The astrology of 2024 also works with the eight vibration. The major events of this year include Pluto moving into Aquarius, illuminating the power of the collective. This transit helps us find our power though healing and recognizing how we can contribute our energy to the greater collective to raise its vibration. We also have a major Total Solar Eclipse in Aries on April 8th, helping to bring attention to our soul’s priority this year and align with it. This event will help us feel our life's mission and embrace the courage needed to pursue it.

ECLIPSES
This eclipse is our second in the Aries/Libra series and encourages a release around relationships that have reached culmination. The South Node wants us to let go and with Venus, that release work relates to our relationships.
The Total Solar Eclipse in Aries will be the event of the year. This Eclipse will be viewed from various places across North America including Dallas TX, Austin TX, Little Rock AK, Indianapolis IN, Cleveland OH, Buffalo NY, and Burlington VT among other cites. Stayed tuned for more details on where to view this Eclipse as we grow closer.
This is our first eclipse happening on the Pisces/Virgo axis which will continue throughout 2025 and will give us a sneak peak of things we will be confronting over next year.
This eclipse is our final in the Aries/Libra series and will usher in a period of closure for this area of our life.
The retrogrades this year are (mostly) contained within the three fire signs of Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius…indicating their potential for fiery misunderstandings. There’s also lots of heartfelt creativity in fire signs, though, so any snafus could likely be creatively reinterpreted.
Mercury conjuncts the South Node one day per year and whenever it does, fated conversations happen. The nodes of the Moon are extremely sensitive places and when a planet connects with them, events that seem eerily familiar can occur. The South node of the Moon is also where we’re working to release energy– so this moment might speak to a conversation that has been waiting in the wings.
This is one of the most magical days of the year. Venus and Jupiter are the two “benefic” planets and when they connect, sweetness abounds. This is a beautiful day to take it easy and let your worries wash away. Because this conjunction is happening in the sign of Taurus, it also encourages all matters of Earthly delights– a picnic or a hike in nature would be time well spent.
Venus cazimi is a magical time for love and in the sign of the twins…it’s double the love! This is one of the most beautiful moments in the year for having an important conversation, or reaching out to someone that you would like to get to know better. Love will quite literally be in the air!
This is a sweet moment for love in our lives as Jupiter will expand the hopeful energy of Venus in Sagittarius. You might be planning a trip with a loved one, or just getting excited about the possibilities ahead together. Remember that it is possible to have too much of a good thing, though, so notice where your indulgences might easily get out of hand.
Venus conjunct the South Node wants us all to let go of any love that is no longer serving the present moment. There may be fated conversations happening in relationships as ideas around connection are upended. This is also a beautiful moment for a brand new beginning regarding values. As Venus is ultimately about how we care, look around and notice the choices that you’re making– consciously and otherwise.
Venus connecting with fellow benefic Jupiter is a blessing of a transit for all. While it’s not necessarily a great moment for having the energy to work very hard or do anything too strenuous, it does want us to lean into relaxation and celebrate the abundant connections in our lives. Because this transit is happening in air signs, it’s about connecting for connectings sake. People will be excited to see and be seen with others and new friendships are more than possible.
2024 begins with a loud moment of transformation, as the Sun connects with Pluto. We call this a “cazimi” moment in astrology, and it signals the planet connecting with the Sun being purified. As Pluto is already the ultimate planet of rebirth, it’s a beautiful moment to set intentions for the year ahead.
Mere hours after Pluto connects with the Sun at the final minute of Capricorn, it returns to Aquarius. We received a sneak peek of this transit in 2023 and now it’s (almost) here to stay for the next couple decades. Pluto in Aquarius signals a major shift in technology and the infrastructure of our society as a whole. Pay close attention to the Aquarius area of your chart this year, as a powerful transformation is brewing. Learn more about Pluto in Aquarius in the Aquarius Season Workbook.
Pluto will return to Capricorn for the FINAL time of our lives today and signals the last couple months of clean up for this area of our life– forever. If there’s anything you’ve been avoiding in the Capricorn area of your chart, expect it to be loud and clear the second half of the year. Now is the time to address any lingering concerns in this area and release the work that’s been centered here since 2009.
Today marks the final time Pluto will enter Aquarius in our lifetime. It will remain in the sign for 20 years and will utterly transform the area of life that Aquarius rules in all of our personal charts. Pluto in Aquarius has so far seen the rise of AI and that’s expected to continue. Our collective society is undergoing a deep rebirth from now until 2045 and will likely be unrecognizable on the other side.
Mars and Pluto are the two “malefic” planets in astrology and when they come together…something EXTREME is bound to occur. Depending on where this conjunction happens in your birth chart is where you’ll be looking to launch into something entirely new. Be on the lookout for power struggles and don’t compromise on your (perhaps secret) desires.
When Mars and Uranus come together…unexpected things happen, and often quickly. This energy is definitively unsettling and will buck the status quo as an act of rebellion. And hopefully, also, to break ground on something revolutionary. This can also be an accident prone energy so caution should be exercised around this date. It’s ok to reinvent the wheel, but it’s more impactful with true purpose.
If there was any advice for tax season in 2024…it would be to get your taxes done well before the deadline! Because of a coinciding Mercury retrograde in April, it’s a stubborn and frustrating time for getting things accomplished as planned. Mars wants to move fast while Saturn takes its time and moves methodically. When these two planets come together, frustrations are par for the course.
This transit is a slippery slope for Mars, and happening in Pisces, might even end up being literal! If there are any literal or metaphorical puddles around it would serve to be mindful of them on this date. Mars typically likes to move quickly and pointedly, while Neptune diffuses energy and can make things especially unclear. This leads to confusion around where we’re headed and why. On the positive side, Neptune can lend Mars empathetic and intuitive guidance on which direction to go next.
We’re all primed and ready for ACTION on this Spring day in May and anything you’re hopeful to get a head start on will benefit from the forward momentum. The North Node is always hungry for more, so this is a majorly independent energy. If you’re looking to strike out on your own in any way, this day marks a promising energy for doing your own thing.
Our wounds are likely to be screaming at us at the end of May because of Mars connecting with Chiron. This transit occurs every two years so it’s not extremely uncommon, but that doesn’t make it any less tender.
There’s no way around it, Mars square Pluto is a difficult transit. These are two “malefic” planets and when they come together, especially in a tense aspect, there is a promise of change. While Mars wants to move ahead at all costs, Pluto will force a deep excavation before charging forward. The two energies will have to be reconciled and before there’s closure– there might be a few tough corners to round.
This is a “shock and awe” transit and sudden changes should be expected. This can also be an accident prone meetup, so it’s important to exercise caution around this time. As it’s happening in Taurus, there could be upsets in the food supply or other unexpected and sudden happenings regarding the physical world. On a personal level, the Taurus area of our birth charts will experience some level of surprise– or a “lightning bolt” moment regarding the topics of the Taurus house.
Mars can act as an expediter when it connects with other planets, and when it’s in the same sign as Jupiter…it wants growth NOW. Jupiter also expands anything that it touches, so the Martial themes are going to be especially charged on this date. Pay attention to the conversations that are happening around you and the promises attached.
This is a glaring stop sign of a transit– and a minimum a frustrating detour. Saturn watns things to be done diligently and isn’t worried about how much time it takes to accomplish the job. Saturn knows good things are worth waiting for and that often means the passage of time in pursuit of perfection. Mars, on the other hand, is ready to go…NOW. Meeting in a tense aspect means there could be frustrations around moving forward. Trust that the slow down is happening for a reason and it will serve to be diligent in the long run.
In a literal sense, this is a great day for water aerobics! But if you’re not up for treading water, you might feel like it’s an appropriate metaphor anyway. Neptune can be confusing and obscure things, so when it connects with Mars in a difficult arrangement, things can get more than a little confusing!
Mars and Pluto are both at the “anaretic” degree at this time, which can signal a crisis of sorts. Because Pluto is finishing up its time in Capricorn, for the last month in our lifetime, something is reaching a turning point that will mark its ultimate end. Whatever is ending around this date for you personally can be trusted as closure that needs to happen and is ultimately for your highest and greatest good.
A Mars retrograde is rarely a welcomed transit, but it’s definitely happening for a reason. Mars goes retrograde every two years and serves as a review period for our previous actions. The entire holiday season will be impacted by this transit, and will shake up whatever you were once up to in the Leo and Cancer areas of your chart.
Jupiter is the great benefic and makes everything that it touches greatly expand in a positive light. When it connects with the Sun, there will be an infectious energy in the air. This is a very hopeful and inspiring day.
This is one of the most rare transits of the year, and arguably of the decade! Jupiter only connects with Uranus once every 12 years, so this marks a major shift both personally and collectively. Look to the Taurus area of your chart to witness where changes will happen– and likely very unexpected and sudden ones.
Jupiter spends about one year in each sign and this year it will enter the sign of the twins. Because this planet expands everything it touches, the Gemini area of our birth charts might just DOUBLE!
There is a push and pull between growth and remaining steady with this transit. While Jupiter is all about bounty and expanse, Saturn constricts and slows. These are very different energies that will fight to come out on top…though Saturn will likely be the ultimate victor.
This transit occurred back in August at almost the same degrees and is now happening again. Think back to mid-August and see if you’re coming up against a similar growth edge now. While it might not be the exact same event, it might rhyme with what happened previously!
Saturn doesn’t get the most fan fare because of its frequently difficult transits, but all it asks is that you follow the rules so that you can mature. And today, especially, is one of those times. If there’s anything in your life, particularly in the Pisces area of your birth chart, that you’re hoping to excel at over time…this day makes a wonderful opportunity to lay the groundwork. Saturn will be supercharged by the Sun and purified for fresh groundwork to be laid.
This marks a major moment for healing in 2024. Chiron is always about our deepest wounds, and when it connects with the North Node…we’re moving towards them bravely. As this lands only a few days after Valentine’s Day, our sensitivities, and capacity to heal, will be factoring heavily in our committed partnerships.
Cazimis are moments when a planet connects with the Sun and is purified by its heat. When we’re talking about Chiron, it’s a unique moment for us to approach our healing from a new place. This day marks a cleansing for our wounded healer selves, and is a beautiful moment to commit to addressing our deepest hurts.

The Moon moves in cycles, just like our emotions. It’s an extremely powerful luminary to understand, both in the night sky and in your own natal chart. It represents how we feel nourished in life, and the people, places, and things that help us to feel safe.
The Moon changes zodiac signs every 2.5 days, and changes phases every 3.6 days, so it’s a very personal aspect of the birth chart. There are eight total phases and, of course, twelve total Moon signs. To find out what lunar phase you were born under, pull up your chart on astro-charts.com. After you input your birth information, scroll down to the section that says “Special Features” and you will see your lunar phase listed.
Once you know the phase of the Moon you were born under, a pandora's box of information is available to you that will help contextualize your life, and specifically your emotional rhythms.
If you’d like to become more familiar with your chart without the help of software, it’s easy to understand which phase you were born under based on the distance between the Sun and the Moon. Because the luminaries are conjunct each other at a New Moon, and opposite each other at a Full Moon, we can tell the phase the Moon was in at birth based on the degrees the luminaries fall from each other in our chart.
Now that you know which phase the Moon was in on your birthday, it’s time to uncover what that means for you. It’s also special to note that when the Moon in the current sky is in the same phase as your natal lunar phase, you’ll feel an extra boost of energy and the emotional landscape surrounding you should feel familiar.
New Moon: Natural Leader
If you were born under a New Moon phase, you’re ready to break new emotional ground in this lifetime. Like the sky being completely dark during this phase, it might not seem like you have a lot going on around you at any given time…but that is purely an illusion. While all the other phases have some light of the Sun shining on them, you’re just as busy, but behind the scenes. You’re less focused on the public accolades and more concerned with ensuring all the pieces are being put in the right place- giving you the makings of a great leader. You have a powerful vision for your future, and people are attracted to your ability to see the possibilities ahead. It’s important for you to initiate things in your life and not be afraid to set out on the road less taken. You have immense energy for beginnings and will likely be confronted with building things from the ground up throughout your life.
Waxing Crescent: Driven to Accomplish
If you were born under a Waxing Crescent Moon phase, you’re busy with a mission this lifetime that’s likely well underway. Because the earliest seeds of growth are planted at the New Moon, this phase is still charged with that energy of potential…but now it’s time to start doing something about it. There is so much possibility and promise ahead, and these are the days when small actions begin to take shape to start aligning with your biggest dreams. There may be some frustration at this stage because inevitably reality can look different than what we had imagined. Despite any seeming setbacks, though, people born under the Waxing Crescent have an inherent drive to succeed and will stop at nothing to achieve their goals. It’s important for you to trust your intuition and keep following the path you believe you were born to walk.
First Quarter: Transforms Energy
If you were born under a First Quarter Moon phase, you’re at a transformational crossroads in this lifetime. Because the Moon is halfway illuminated at this phase, you might feel like you have one foot in the past and one foot in the future, but this perspective can be a gift. Rather than trying to play both sides, you know how to alchemize the energy of the before with the after to create an entirely new vision. You’re able to deeply understand what worked in the past, and let go of what didn’t, and it’s at this phase that you can make crucial decisions for moving ahead. You will likely be confronted with big choices throughout your life, and it’s important to trust the power of your intuition to make the right call. People admire your ability to be decisive, so when it’s time for a big decision, know that you have everything you need.
Waxing Gibbous: Gives Support
If you were born under a Waxing Crescent Moon phase, you’re polishing up your emotional landscape in this lifetime. You’ve been through a lot and are well aware that you’re close to a new precipice. But with that knowledge comes the desire to make everything neat and tidy before reaching the finish line. People understand this supportive side of you and appreciate your uncanny ability to clean things up before a big shift. There are lots of moving pieces in this phase, and you inherently know how to manage them all and put them in their place. This energy might have you helping others with ease and understanding the importance of flexibility when it comes to achieving set goals.
Full Moon: Understands Reality
If you were born under a Full Moon phase, your emotions are meant to be witnessed unapologetically in this lifetime. You might feel like you’ve done a lot of the hard work already, and now you’re meant to enjoy the fruits of your labor. That’s not to say that your life won’t have any rough patches, as Full Moons are known to bring their own amount of drama…but it does mean that you have a certain level of experience under your belt. People see you as a confident and energetic person and someone who isn’t afraid to highlight their vulnerabilities. What might appear as a weakness to some, you know to be your greatest strength. Showing up authentically and yes, likely emotionally, is your superpower. Lean into all the big feelings that you’re faced with and people will gravitate to you as their greatest mirror.
Waning Gibbous: Seeks Purpose
If you were born under a Waning Gibbous Moon phase, you’ve reached many emotional peaks in past lifetimes and are now ready to integrate those lessons. It’s like the millionaire who suddenly decides to sell all of their possessions and travel around the world in a van- you’re ready to find deeper meaning in your life and believe there’s more out there than meets the eye. Rather than being driven to acquire more things like most, you might be a person who more readily releases. This ability to go against the grain and seek meaning in your life will draw the attention of others who are looking for something similar. You could find yourself inspiring others without necessarily intending to, by simply living your life in a way that feels aligned with your emotions. Sharing with others openly and honestly will always be a supportive act for you.
Last Quarter: Allows Closure
If you were born under a Last Quarter Moon, you’re approaching the end of a long journey in this lifetime. Rather than being power-hungry or chasing after meaningless goals, you’re in pursuit of a relaxed state of mind that has transmuted many lessons. You would make a great teacher or mentor as you’ve accumulated lots of wisdom along the way and, perhaps most importantly, learned the valuable lesson of forgiveness. There’s something in you that intuitively understands that life isn’t just about reaching for new things, but that when you surrender control, magical new beginnings will fill in the void. Closure is an important word for you and will be great medicine throughout your life. When one door closes, another door opens, is a mantra that you identify with more than most.
Waning Crescent: Crosses Worlds
If you were born under a Waning Crescent Moon, your emotional landscape this lifetime is one of rest and rejuvenation. You might have an eerie sense that you’ve been here before and rather than starting something new…you’re finishing out a chapter. You might even be a bit of a minimalist and be frustrated by people who cling to old things too tightly. You inherently understand the power of moving on and the excitement of a fresh beginning just around the corner. When people you love are confronting endings, they feel comfortable in your presence because you know all too well what it feels like to release one story and move on to the next. Allow yourself to fully relax into the knowing that a new beginning is always just around the corner. The Fool card in Tarot will be a supportive and familiar energy to work with throughout your life.
But through societal conditioning and personal (sometimes traumatic) experiences, you’ve learned to show only the “positive” aspects of yourself. The parts of you deemed less desirable get suppressed into the depths of your subconscious because you don’t think they’ll be accepted by people around you.
The hidden aspects of yourself that aren’t honored, accepted, or even acknowledged are called your shadow.
Most of your shadows formed in childhood when you experienced an emotion you didn’t understand. You didn’t receive the necessary guidance from your caregiver to process your feelings, or worse, you got punished for displaying your emotions.
When you’re young and impressionable you naturally want to be accepted, to feel a sense of belonging to your family, friends, and peers. So if you’re taught that an aspect of you isn’t accepted, trusted, or valued— you bury it.
You form your identity based on who your family thinks you should be.
This causes your child-self to disassociate to prevent feelings of shame, fear, or discomfort. Disassociation is separation from the parts of you you can’t bear to face. You subconsciously choose not to identify with them and pretend they don’t exist, thus becoming your shadow.
For instance, if you were guilt-tripped for feeling sad as a child because it made one of your parents upset, you may have hidden sadness in your shadow. You dissociated from the emotion of sadness and removed your ability to feel sad. So, when a situation develops later in life that elicits sadness, you feel anger instead. Because these shadows have been suppressed for so long you become irritable, and resentful and may even project your anger onto others. You might get triggered when someone displays sadness because you never felt safe enough to express your own sadness.
In this scenario, anger is nothing more than a survival mechanism— and a clever one at that. It’s the emotion you feel initially, but it’s not the real emotion you feel deep inside. Anger becomes a mask for your sadness in order to avoid a shadow.
Emotions are nuanced. If you find it difficult to pinpoint what emotion you're feeling at your core, reference The Wheel Of Emotions. It’s a helpful tool on your journey to self-awareness.
With repetition, just like anything else, shadows become habits.
They control your behavior because they feel so familiar. Your reactions are automatic, they almost feel uncontrollable. One telltale sign of a shadow is your instinctive behaviors, the ones that come from an unconscious space. Often shadows show up as humiliation or embarrassment. You get so fearful of what others think of you that you deny yourself the right to show up authentically.
Remember, not all shadows are dark.
Positive energies can also be suppressed if they don’t fit the ideal version of yourself (the version you show to the public). If you were taught that you’d be cut off from your family if you demonstrated too much success or self-confidence, then being confident and successful might be a part of your shadow self. Highly successful people might trigger you. If they do, then there’s evidence of a shadow that needs attention.
The shadow self is a trickster— as long as it remains within you, it will always have the ability to control you. Until you decide you’re ready to unpack it, it will run the show.
Scorpio season is a beautiful opportunity to dive deep into shadow work so it no longer meddles in your life, or blocks your highest intentions. It’s the season of revelations, alchemy, and transmutation— an invitation to pull back the curtain of your subconscious mind so your shadows can’t run the show from behind the scenes.
Shadow work is challenging but empowering. Avoiding facing your shadows leads to an infinite loop of self-sabotaging patterns. Facing your darkest triggers, and building awareness around them is the first step to accepting the entirety of your being.
Embarking on your shadow work journey allows you to realize your true potential. It reveals past stories that are still controlling you here and now. It allows your heart to heal. It helps you understand yourself to ultimately reach your highest potential. It raises your vibration (and the vibration of those around you).
That’s why shadow work is an integral part of any spiritual practice and a necessary complement to other healing modalities. It’s not about getting rid of your shadow. It’s about accepting it fully, then transmuting that energy into something constructive.
Use the energy of Scorpio to become your own shaman, alchemist, and psychologist as you travel through the deepest layers of your being.
When facing your shadows becomes hard, give yourself compassion and grace. Although you may not love your old wounds, reactions, or triggers, they’re still a part of you. They’re a facet within your psyche that’s made you who you are today.
Don’t deny all the inevitable emotions that arise with shadow work. Feel them all deeply. Return to your breath and your body when needed— you always have the power to return to peace.
It’s some of the most important work you’ll ever do on yourself. It’s challenging and intense, but pivotal for empowering yourself to live the life of your dreams.
And you don’t have to embark on your shadow work journey alone. If you’re ready to free yourself from unconscious patterns, consider joining my upcoming course— Shadow Work.
With love and support,
Jill
]]>A Lunar Eclipse occurs when the full moon is entirely masked by Earth's dark shadow. The Earth is aligned between the Sun and the Moon— all existing on the same plane of orbit. Each year we experience two Eclipse seasons which work in conjunction with each other bringing at least one solar eclipse and one lunar eclipse.
Because the Moon's diameter is much smaller than the Earth's, the totality of the Lunar Eclipse can be seen by the naked eye for about thirty minutes to an hour.
For centuries, cultures across the world recognized the spiritual significance of a Lunar Eclipse. Some saw it as a negative omen, but that’s not always the case.
Lunar Eclipses tend to reveal things— bringing (sometimes disruptive!) personal realizations, or “aha” moments into consciousness. It’s an intense, energetically potent time when we’re faced with truths about ourselves we didn’t recognize before. You may even receive epiphanies about your journey.
Shocking as these revelations may be, they don’t have to be negative.
If the Moon represents your emotional body, it makes sense that a Lunar Eclipse would illuminate your hidden or suppressed emotions. And before any change can occur, you first must have awareness.
Awareness of your emotional tides allows space for transformation— that’s the nature of Eclipses— to bring accelerated energetic evolution and growth. During a Lunar Eclipse, your emotions may temporarily be heightened, or your nervous system might feel dysregulated. Resisting these energies can feel even more challenging, causing anxiety, stress, or confusion.
It’s crucial to embrace the natural tides of the Lunar Eclipse, without the need the fight against them. Instead, make space for yourself to process the information this Taurus Lunar Eclipse brings to you. It’s ideal to stay open and receptive to its cosmic magic so you can clear blockages, deep-seated wounds, or trauma that have been suppressed in your energetic body.
As you recognize bad habits, old stories, or emotional trauma surfacing, breathe through it, write about it in your journal, and allow yourself to release unwanted attachments. It’s time to cut ties to anything that’s no longer serving you. Although it may feel like everything’s working against you, trust that it’s all happening for you. After all the Lunar Eclipse is the perfect time to clear, purify, and let go so you can become an expanded version of yourself.
Simply accepting that change is a natural part of life can make this time more ease-filled without the need to overly attach to your emotions. In fact, only when you’re open will you receive spiritual guidance, inner knowings, and omens that help propel you forward.
The Lunar Eclipse invites you to look toward the future and let go of the past because powerful changes are on the horizon. Give yourself time, and grace during this emotionally-charged Lunar Eclipse. It’s bringing in more self-awareness, because ultimately, learning the deeper truths about yourself is a good thing. I’ve created the Taurus Lunar Eclipse Workbook to support you during this intense Eclipse season.
Enjoy!
]]>In astrology, connections with others are called the “synastry” between birth charts, and at its core, what we’re talking about here is simply connection. Synastry is really just another word for compatibility.
There are many different ways that you can look at compatibility between two people. Do they have similar interests? Are their goals complimentary? What about their sense of humor? The list goes on and on. Astrological compatibility addresses plenty of questions like these…but concentrates, overarchingly, on the timing of relationships.
When forming a romantic relationship with someone new, the planets in your chart are activating something in their own, and vice versa. Every planet is important, but some hold more weight than others.
It’s important to first understand these planets within your own chart, and then you’ll be able to externalize that knowledge towards what it means within a partnership.
Our upcoming course is going to inspect the many different relationships the planets make, and what that means for you whether you’re single, dating, or in a long-term commitment.
The Sun + Moon
When thinking about compatibility, the luminaries are a great place to begin. Understanding the Sun in your own chart will be critical, though, before you can understand it in someone else's.
The Sun is our vitality. It relates to physical health, and more metaphorically, how we shine in the world. It’s concerned with external energies and how our ego shows up. In that sense, it’s a relatively obvious position in the chart- though that doesn’t make it any less important.
Having a healthy relationship with your Sun means you’ll be able to show up authentically. And when you understand who you truly are, you’re much more likely to attract someone that aligns with that identity. Confusion around your own Sun can bring in confusing relationships, as you’re not clear about how you take up space on your own.
The Moon, on the other hand, is much more private. If it’s just a casual connection you’re experiencing, you might never become familiar with the person’s Moon sign. And if it’s in Scorpio…you could be deeply committed and still be uncovering their secrets decades later!
The main thing to know is that the Moon is where and how we feel nourished. It’s an extreme point of safety and security in the chart, which is important in a romantic relationship. If you’re not comfortable together, the chances of a healthy relationship are slim.
Venus + Mars
If the luminaries are the basics for a relationship in general, Venus and Mars come in to spice things up specifically in a romantic sense. Venus is how we give and receive love, and ultimately what we value. As with the Sun and Moon, it’s important to have a clear understanding of your own Venus, (the love language quiz can be a helpful tool here!) so that you can appreciate someone else's. If you aren’t clear on your own values…how will you be able to align with someone else's?
Mars, on the other hand, governs how we fight within our relationships, and perhaps more constructively, how we stand up for what we believe in- or what we think is worth fighting for. It also relates to sexual compatibility.
Understanding your own Mars can show you what hot button issues you could have to confront in relationships, and the things that end up being deal-breakers for you. And of course, the same is also true for your current/potential partner.
Understanding someone's Mars sign teaches you about how they go after what they want- and the style in which they’re likely to pursue you (or want you to do the chasing).
Saturn
The planet that’s much less talked about in compatibility, as it’s inherently less sexy…is Saturn. While it might not be flashy like Venus or satiating like the Moon, Saturn is a key planet in the longevity factor of our relationships.
One of the most important things to remember about Saturn is that it’s supremely the planet of maturity, and with that, comes a concentration around time. Namely, the time it takes to even understand or “own” your natal Saturn will fundamentally shape the way you relate to responsibility and Saturnian themes in your relationships.
A key moment in your personal life arrives with the Saturn Return, and particularly if it’s in one of the relationship houses (predominantly houses 4-8). Everyone experiences this period around age 30 and there’s typically a clear before and after moment- or several.
The time before your thirties will shift into “youth,” or at least something like a first act of your life, while the time of your thirties onward will be like the second act. You will leave things behind that are no longer supportive in the long-term, and that can often look like a release of relationships that you’ve outgrown.
On the flip side, this is also a period where many people get married, buy houses, and have children for the first time- which are milestones often accomplished in a committed relationship. Make a note of what happened for you between ages 29-31 and know that the people entering and leaving your sphere at that time are important for your relationships long-term.
Compatibility of Planets & Aspects
This area of compatibility is where things get a bit more advanced. The planets within our chart are in communication with each other based on aspects and those aspects can simply be thought of as lines of communication.
In our astrological compatibility course, we’ll be taking a close look at aspects, and also considering the elements of planets interacting with each other. For example, an air sign is likely to fan the flames of a fire sign, while a water sign could drown them out…or create steam!
There is no one way that the aspects and elements will work, so it’s important to use your intuition and personal experience in conjunction with researching the meanings of different aspects.
The Houses in Relationship
Another critical area for relationships of all kinds is the houses of the birth chart, and specifically houses five through eight.
Like the planets, every house comes into play, but these houses are critically important when understanding how you relate to someone romantically.
Timing Techniques
Finally, most things in life seem to relate to timing. It’s a common theme in romantic comedies for a reason! We’re all familiar with the plot: the perfect person comes along, but for some reason, their love interest is currently unavailable. But magically, by the end of the movie, space has been cleared so that they can land on the same page together.
This isn’t uncommon in real life! The stars can align for love, but we also have to be in the right place in our life to receive the gifts that want to come through. Through understanding our personal rhythms in astrology, we can look at other peoples and see how our timing and their timing might overlap.

]]>While individual crystals are immensely powerful tools on their own, crystal grids bring their power to the next level. People have been using sacred geometry for thousands of years, and that’s where crystal grids source their power. While the energy of the crystals radiate at a specific frequency individually, when combined with multiple other stones, and in a certain shape coupled with intention, the results are beautifully powerful.
A quick Google search will provide endless ideas for crystal grids, but an intuitive way to work with them is to begin with the element you’re hoping to reach. While crystals are powerful on their own, aligning their qualities with the elements can bring their impact to the next level.
Think of these crystal grids like tethers to whatever energy you’re hoping to tap into. On a basic level, each of the four elements represent different emotions or ways of being in the world- and when you imagine what you’re hoping to manifest from your grid, you can likely connect it to one of the elements (or a mix of a few of them).
For example, perhaps you’re hoping to start making more money in your career. That would put you in the “Earth” element category. While all the elements are always at play in our lives simultaneously, you can focus on Earth energy for your crystal grid, as what you’re hoping for is a physical manifestation.
Once you decide on what element your crystal grid relates to, you can take it a step further and decide if the element you’re looking to tap into is overactive or underactive in your life. So instead of just working with the Earth element in general, maybe you decide that Earth energy in your life seems to be underactive.
While there are specific stones traditionally associated with the root chakra, that would correspond to Earth energy, those stones can be further broken down into more soothing Earth energy versus an activating Earth energy.
If you were looking to donate money to charity, for example, you could say your Earth element was overactive, and channel your crystal grid more for release of abundance, rather than bringing it inward like you would for a raise at work.
Because crystal grids have the added benefit of using the energy of multiple stones at once, you can think about colors here as well. Typically, if you believe you have an “overactive” energy, you’ll want to choose stones with more muted tones. And if you’re looking to address an “underactive” energy, you can look to create a crystal grid full of vivid, bright stones.
We’re on the precipice of another eclipse season, so using these crystal grids in alignment with the “Air” element will be especially helpful right now. And in general, working with crystals is especially helpful for air energy, as it helps to ground it and prevent it from floating away!
When you think of the “fire” element, chances are good that all sorts of vivid images immediately come to mind. Fire is warmth, it’s vitality, and it’s what gets us literally “fired up” in life. There’s also the possibility of “being fired,” though, which shows fire energy when it’s in an overactive state. If you have a great idea for a new project, a new workout routine you’re hoping to begin, or generally anything you hope to get off the ground- this is the elemental crystal grid for you.
Signs of overactive fire energy: road rage, fevers, breakouts
Suggested stone: Orange Selenite, Smoky Citrine
Orange Selenite is particularly useful during a Lunar or Solar Eclipse ritual. It helps align you with the intuitive power of the Moon while keeping you grounded in your energy. Smoky Citrine, while immensely powerful, can also help with release.
Signs of underactive fire energy: lethargy, misfiring, aimlessness
Suggested stone: Carnelian, Red Jasper
Carnelian is the ultimate stone to incorporate into your crystal grid if you’re wanting to get back in your body. It will fire you up and get your juices flowing again!
What do you see when you visualize the Earth element? Of course we live on planet Earth, so the first picture in your mind’s eye might be our little blue and green globe floating in space. If you’re feeling ungrounded, live in a busy city where the only nature could be called a “concrete jungle” or don’t seem to be able to get your finances under control, an Earth element crystal grid could be just what you need.
Signs of overactive earth energy: stubbornness, hoarding, “stuckness”
Suggested stones for crystal grid: Green Onyx, Moss Agate
With the cool green and brown tones of nature, these stones help mellow out all the hyper-fixation and remind you that the Earth, though stable, continues to move- just like you should.
Signs of underactive earth energy: daydreaming, nervous tension, lack of follow-through
Suggested stones for crystal grid: Malachite, Petrified Wood, Chrysocolla
The vibrancy of Chrysocolla and Malachite will bring even the New York City dweller into a rooted expanse of potential. Their vivid green colors remind us how important nature is in our lives and will invigorate any Earth focused crystal grid.
Air is a more difficult element to grasp as it’s invisible. While the other elements are tactile, air can feel impossible to hold onto and therefore more difficult to understand in a study of the elements. More than any other elemental grid, it’s especially important to have a crystal at the center for Air energy, as this ties the rest of the crystals to it like a harness. This element is especially active right now, on the cusp of Eclipse season- and it will be through 2024 while the South Node remains in Libra.
Signs of overactive air energy: flightiness, indecision, overthinking, coldness
Suggested stones for crystal grid: Chalcedony, Dumortierite, Fluorite
If the air energy is overactive in your life, it’s important to soothe it. If you frequently talk over people, or are too busy thinking about what you’re going to say without listening…these softer air stones will be supportive in tuning your air energy into a receptive and organized vessel.
Signs of underactive air energy: social anxiety, “drawing a blank,”
Suggested stones for crystal grid: Rose Quartz, Lemurian, Lapis Lazuli
Rose quartz is the classic connection stone, but don’t let its soft color fool you! If you’re needing extra oomph in your connections (or just the willpower to get out of your pajamas and to a weekend social event) rose quartz will supercharge your grid. Lemurian is also an immensely powerful conductor of energetic communication and will get any stale information flowing in no time.
Many of our life’s love woes can be tied to the water element. If you’re dating someone who doesn’t seem to be emotionally available, for example, a water element crystal grid could be right up your alley. Water also relates to our memories and these crystal grids are wonderful for past life recall and all dream work.
Signs of overactive water energy: emotionally reactive, passive-aggression, bloating
Suggested stones for crystal grid: Angelite, Amethyst, Howlite
If you’re in deep need of release, any and all of these soothing stones will be there to support you on the journey. While still tapping into the water element and the higher chakras, they do so gently.
Signs of underactive water energy: repressed emotions, inability to cry, bitterness
Suggested stones for crystal grid: Peach Moonstone, Labradorite, Selenite
If you’re needing to amp up the emotional energy in your life, Peach Moonstone is the perfect center to your crystal grid. It combines the watery realm of Moonstone with the fired up color of the peach to get your emotions firing on all cylinders. Labradorite, of course will take you into the deepest realms of your emotional desires and help to bring clarity to your deepest dreams.
The amazing thing about crystal grids is that you don’t have to choose just one crystal, you can incorporate crystals from each of these different sections to bring in a more balanced energy, or you can pull crystals all from the same element to heighten one specifically. The sky's the limit when it comes to your crystal grid designs! We can’t wait to see what you come up with.
]]>Once again, we find ourselves on the brink of a powerful Eclipse Season. We’re brought two eclipse seasons every year— each with one solar eclipse and one lunar eclipse.
Solar eclipses occur on New Moons, while lunar eclipses occur on Full Moons. What makes them possible is the Moon’s and Sun's proximity to the lunar nodes. The North and South Nodes exist where the Sun's path and the Moon's orbit intersect. They’re energetic vortices full of magic and potential.
When the Moon and Sun are positioned within 17 degrees of either node, an eclipse becomes possible. This positioning is what also designates the official Eclipse Season, with this one beginning on October 1st, 2023. Many people deem October “spooky season” and in 2023…that couldn’t be more accurate.
Eclipse seasons are always powerful periods of change and revelation. While the eclipses are the highlights, we have the entire 34-day period to embrace the energies of Lunar Nodes and harness their energies. Eclipses open portals for us to step through and make exponential life changes.
Find your personal North Node, ask yourself how the highest vibrations of Aries can help you integrate the energies of your personal North Node into your life. This may include healing through stillness or connecting with nature. It may be focusing on the abundance already in your life. Or it may be making your soul’s mission a priority while learning to say no without guilt.
The North Node pulls society's energy in one direction, signaling where we are headed as a collective. It holds the lessons humanity is learning and integrating during a specific period.
The South Node is what we are leaving behind as a society, particularly the lower vibrations of the sign involved. It is what the collective is evolving away from and often represents vibrations we have already mastered as a society.
The beauty of Libra season this year will be colored by a marked intensity because of the first eclipse in her home sign. The maximum eclipse point will occur at 10:55 am PT on October 14th, 2023. The eclipse happens at the same moment everywhere, just adjust the time to your local time zone to find out when it is occurring for you.
The ruler of this eclipse, and actually the ruler of both eclipses during this Eclipse Season is Venus in Virgo. That tells us that the month of October, as a whole, is going to bring up a lot of intensity around love, relationships, and our value systems as a whole.
With the South Node now in Libra, we’re seeing how certain relationships have held us back. The eclipse on October 14th will likely continue that theme, as Venus, its planetary ruler, will be opposite Saturn. And the next eclipse, the final in the Scorpio/Taurus series that began back in 2021, will have Venus opposing Neptune…acting like a healing salve for whatever relationships have reached a full circle moment.
The Libra New Moon Eclipse on October 14th is a great time of closure and new beginnings. It’s a time to release what’s no longer serving you in relationships so you can move toward your true North, represented by the North Node in Aries.
Occurring just a few days before Halloween, the Taurus Lunar Eclipse on October 28th is a potent time of manifestation and completion. It is the final Eclipse in Taurus that we’ll experience for more than a decade, closing the chapter that began in the Taurus area of our chart back in 2021.
Because we’ll be deeply into Scorpio season at this point in the year, this Eclipse encourages you to dive deep and commit to shadow work to help make the unconscious conscious. Taurus’ eclipse energy might just manifest what you’ve been working on in the Taurus area of your chart for the past two years.
This Eclipse reaches peak intensity at 1:24 pm PT on October 28th.
The ruling planet of an eclipse, and of any lunation, is very important. And for both Eclipses this October, we can see that their ruler, Venus, will be in the sign of Virgo- and in fact during the entirety of Eclipse Season.
This seems to suggest that the month of October takes a more analytical, and perhaps even harsh look at the many aspects of our relationships. We’re no longer going to just let things slide without being noticed. If there’s something that can be improved…we’re ready to fix it this Eclipse Season. As Virgo is an Earth sign, though, don’t expect these changes to happen overnight (although, Eclipse energy can be swift!). It’s more about acknowledging the logistics around our relationships, and committing to making them work for everyone involved.
Whether it’s the South Node Eclipse in Libra or the Eclipse in Taurus, both are centered around Venus in Virgo’s desire to improve its tangible, physical surroundings, usually by organizing information and updating systems for improved flow. This month would be served by color coding your bookshelves or your closet while your relationships undergo a similar reconfiguration or rebirth.
While this is the second eclipse in the series on the Aries/Libra access, it’s the first in the sign of Libra. This energy will be active until January 12th, 2025, so, as ever, this eclipse is showing us a preview of the future and aligning us with our fate.
By comparison, the first eclipse feels more serious and practical, while the second eclipse feels like a healing, full circle moment in our relationships.
These horoscopes were written based on your rising sign, and therefore what house in your chart has Virgo on its cusp.

This Full Moon definitely has September going out with a bang. Because of an aspect this lunation is making with Uranus, it’s safe to expect the unexpected at the end of the month. Some people’s energies might boil over, while others will attempt to keep the peace.
Read more about how this intense Full Moon will impact you personally with the Aries Season Workbook.
While we experience eclipse season twice a year, every year, no two periods ever look the same. That’s especially true this year, because the nodes of the Moon changed signs this summer. Eclipses are when life’s events seem to unfold on a heightened and/or especially karmic timeline.
Read more about how this eclipse season will impact you personally with the Libra Season Workbook.
Mercury, finally direct and clear of its post-retrograde shadow period, enters Libra on October 4th. From now until October 22nd, when the planet departs for Scorpio, we’re all going to be trying our best to get along. In Libra, Mercury knows how to ensure everyone is heard. Fairness is the name of the game, and tact can go a long way in not only achieving what we want…but knowing what’s best for everyone involved. Take your time to weigh the pros and cons of any given situation.
The last quarter Moon in Cancer is an especially emotional place. This is the final phase of the Moon, and in its most comfortable watery realm…things are likely to be touchy. Release is both inherent to Cancerian energy, and supremely difficult. Whether you need to cry it out or take an extended bubble bath (or both, at the same time), trust yourself and the flow of your emotions.
This period can be thought of like a clearing ground before the New Moon eclipse in Libra next week. It’s important to unpack how you feel, not just how you look like you feel. Libra is preoccupied with aesthetic appearances, but Cancer energy wants to take things from skin deep to the depths of our soul.
Venus, the planet of beauty, relationships, and ultimately, our values, enters new territory this Libra season. This wouldn’t typically be big news, but the planet spent a whopping four months (June-September) in Leo this summer because of its retrograde. Now direct, and fully out of its shadow period, we will have a vastly different area of life being sweetened by Venus’ grace.
Venus in Virgo, while technically in its “fall,” has plenty of things to love. Any projects that require a critical eye will be improved by this energy: think editing a zine or color-coding your closet. This is also an especially discerning place for the planet of love, so if you find yourself trying to be the “perfect” partner, or setting unrealistic expectations for your amour, try to appreciate the beauty of imperfect details, rather than picking them apart.
The last few moments of this year are special in that Pluto, the ultimate planet of transformation, is experiencing its final moments in Capricorn. It first entered the sign back in 2009 and we’ve experienced a number of collective transformations in its wake. And while this is a generational planet, it’s also been influencing us personally over these many years.
This is an especially significant moment as Pluto won’t be at this degree of Capricorn ever again in our lifetimes. We’re finishing a cycle in the Capricorn area of our chart right now that we’ll be done with forever come this time next year.
With that said, the next few months are a beautiful period to acknowledge the deeply transformative area of life you’ve navigated since 2009. Here are a few thoughts to honor Pluto’s last moments in Capricorn, based on your rising sign:
Pluto is spending its last few months in your 10th house of career and you’re probably finalizing a very public rebrand. How have you evolved, publicly, over the past decade?
Your beliefs have undergone a major rebirth process since 2009, as Pluto has been excavating your 9th house of higher learning. Meditate on your life’s philosophies and thank the journeys that helped you arrive.
Resources from other people have factored heavily for you the past decade. What have you been able to obtain thanks to your powerful connections? Letting go is another facet of this energy- what doors are you ready to close for good?
Pluto has been in your 7th house of one on one partnerships for more than a decade now, and it’s undoubtedly transformed your relationship with both yourself and other people. What have your intimate partnerships taught you?
Pluto is finishing its time in your 6th house of wellbeing. How have you learned to take care of yourself- physically, mentally, and emotionally, over the past decade? If your working life has also transformed, appreciate the shift in habits that got you there.
Pluto has been busy transforming your 5th house of creativity and romance. What have you learned about your inner-child since 2009? If you also have children of your own, how have they recreated your life?
Your home and family have been powerful forces in your life since 2009. Whether you’ve been unable to settle down long term or are living in a radically different way, honor your ancestors and how your paths are inherently linked.
Your neighborhood looks different than it did a decade ago. How have your perceptions radically changed, thanks to the people, places, and things nearby? As Pluto is your ruling planet in modern astrology, its movements are especially important for you.
Your finances have undergone a complete transformation since Pluto first entered this area of your chart back in 2009. Notice how your relationship to money has evolved and how it reflects your deepest values.
Sitting in your first house of self, Pluto has been having an especially personal influence on you since 2009. How are you showing up differently in the world than before? How do you make your power known- to yourself and others?
Your intuition has been an immensely powerful tool for you since 2009, though it’s mostly been working behind the scenes. Think back on the synchronicities you’ve experienced and thank the invisible forces guiding your evolution.
Your friends and communities at large have been sources of power for you since 2009. They could’ve also taught you some difficult lessons about how you show up in the world. Where do you fit in society now? What have you contributed?
Things are going to get a lot more intense by this point of Libra season! After a month of Mars on its best behavior in Libra, and just a couple days before an eclipse, the dainty gloves are coming off. What have you learned about the balance, or lack thereof, in your relationships? Rather than keeping up appearances, we’re now all going to be more concerned with achieving our deepest desires. If you have a passion project that’s been needing some attention, attack it with vengeance. Mars in Scorpio goes the distance unapologetically.
Now is the moment for a deep, cleansing breath! While eclipse season isn’t over yet, the first one has come and gone and we’re now in the liminal space between them. We’re creating something new at this point in the lunar cycle, and it’s possibly something we never would’ve imagined. This energy is extremely constructive and wants to support our long-term visions. Lean into what you can physically work with and trust that if you build it, they will come.
In the midst of eclipse season…our communication is going to become a lot more powerful. While Mercury was in Libra we were all trying to play nice and keep up appearances. We wanted everyone to get along, and were generally amenable to our partners and friends. But by the end of Libra season, we’re going to be ready to say what we really think. This energy wants to get to the bottom of things and won’t be placated. This is a moment for deep dive research projects, murder mystery shows, and trusting our intuition over surface-level thinking.
Learn more about this Season and how to harness it's magic to help you find peace, harmony and higher frequency relationships in the Libra Season + Solar Eclipse Workbook.
]]>But, knowing why you set intentions is even more powerful.
Combine the wisdom of how and why you set intentions and watch your desired future unfold effortlessly in front of you.
Setting intentions brings awareness to your thoughts and desires now, to create the future of your dreams. It’s a deliberate choice to think (and feel) thoughts that empower and uplift you. You’re outwardly asking for what you want, and giving your desires clear direction.
You’re co-creating with the Universe, leaving nothing to chance.
☽ Pro Tip: Sit with your intentions. Feel them in your body now as if they’ve already happened. The Universe abides by the law of attraction. If you feel joy, expansion, and gratitude for your intention now, you’ll be a magnet for much more joy, expansion, and gratitude.
Intentions are vibrationally super-charged and possess profound powers that influence the outcome of your life.
Intentions carry a lot of energetic weight and have great potential for manifesting. Trust that by simply setting your intentions — saying them out loud, writing them in your journal, or thinking about them consistently — you’ve called in the vibrations that transform dreams into reality.
Everything you want has already started to take form. The Universe loves intentional thoughts and instantly starts paving the way for your new personal reality to manifest.
☽ Pro Tip: Release the need to control how your intention will manifest, or the to-dos needed to accomplish your goals.
Setting intentions ushers in new behaviors, new relationships, or experiences that propel you forward. They’re small seeds you plant into the Universal frequency via your thoughts, with the intention of watching them grow, then manifest.
Let’s use an example…
Your intention is to build a relationship with a partner who supports your path and keeps you balanced. You take time to envision a partner who raises and complements your vibration. You feel the emotions of being in a supportive, balanced relationship now.
You’re crystal clear about who, and what you want. You’ve just handed the Universe a blueprint of your desires, and now it’s doing everything in its power to make your dreams a reality.
Because you’ve deliberately asked the Universe for what you want, you’ve taken your power into your own hands. You use your intentional thoughts to invite harmony, thriving relationships, money, good health, and overall happiness into your life.
You don’t let life happen to you, you let it happen for you. You harness the power of intention because you understand that every thought you think creates your future.
You intend to build the life of your dreams, on your own terms.
Next time you carve out space to write down your intentions, remember the magnitude of power they hold. And that by setting clear intentions, you now hold that power in your hands.
And if you forget your why, come back to this blog as a reminder that setting intentions is the roadmap to manifesting — and consciously creating — the life of your dreams.
New Moons are the PERFECT time to set intentions. You now know the why, learn how to set intentions with the New Moon in Virgo next week in the Virgo Workbook.
]]>Humans have known about Jupiter, the “gas giant” since ancient times, though the first official insights on the planet were reported in the 1600s by Galileo. Upon viewing Jupiter by telescope, he was surprised to discover what he initially believed were stars, but soon realized were four Moons orbiting Jupiter.
We now know Jupiter to have a whopping 80 Moons and, like Saturn and Uranus, rings as well. Jupiter’s rings, though, are extremely faint and made of dust particles rather than ice. Jupiter is also the largest planet in our solar system (the Sun, a luminary, being the largest of all) with its “giant red spot” alone being larger than the entirety of Earth.
As ever, planets’ physical properties are used to inform their spiritual and psychological properties in astrology. We relate Jupiter, also called the great benefic, to abundance and growth due to its extreme size, and its faint rings might encourage us to remember the importance of boundaries in our life- even (and especially) when we’re looking to expand.
While Jupiter transits are overarchingly looked forward to and known as beneficial periods, it’s important to remember that too much of a good thing is still too much. We might remember the massive storms that have been raging on Jupiter for hundreds of years as a reminder that a magnanimous demeanor likely still comes with its own internal battles.
What’s that saying, “everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle you know nothing about?” They’re wise words and might be one of Jupiter’s own philosophies, too.
Jupiter only entered Taurus in May of 2023, so we’re still very much adjusting to its energy. Unlike Jupiter in Aries, Jupiter is now co-present with Uranus, and that’s going to be one of the biggest stories of its time in the sign. In the Spring of 2024, Jupiter will connect with Uranus and then Venus before departing Taurus for Gemini. In preparation for those exciting transits, we’re now tasked with getting clear about our foundational beliefs.
This retrograde is interesting because it’s occurring less than 24 hours after Venus stations direct. This seems to signal that while our values have undergone their own underworld transformation, it’s now time for our beliefs to catch up. In this sense, our newfound values are informing our foundational beliefs, and that’s what Jupiter’s retrograde journey is meant to right.
Rather than simply going along with the current groupthink (Jupiter) we’re all being tasked with a much more personal journey. Integrating how your values changed during Venus Retrograde will be a critical component of cementing Jupiter retrograde’s lessons.
Finally, the Jupiter retrograde chart can be a helpful tool in predicting what themes might come up over the coming months. Curiously, Jupiter will station retrograde in conjunction with the Moon in Taurus, and the Moon will be closely square Venus. The Moon is all about how we nurture ourselves/others and feel safe, so those ideas will be of critical importance with this transit. It’s not only about how we’re looking to grow, but how that growth is able to feed us, perhaps in both a literal and metaphorical way.
Pay close attention to what you’re consuming from September through the end of the year, especially related to the Venusian relationships that surround you. Jupiter retrograde in Taurus wants us all focused on relationships and how they make us feel.
Jupiter stations retrograde on September 4th at 15° Taurus, and will station direct again on December 30th at 5° Taurus. Those with personal planets between 3° and 17° of the fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius) are likely to feel this transit personally.
These horoscopes were written based on your rising sign. The rising sign indicates which house Jupiter is currently transiting in your birth chart.
Jupiter will station retrograde in your 2nd house. Your financial sector has been one of growth and abundance this summer, and now it’s time to integrate. Have your new revenue streams deeply aligned with your values, or were they a means to an end? Allow this retrograde to remind you that your bank statement, now more than ever, reflects your core beliefs.
Juptier will station retrograde in your 1st house. Your presence has been one to watch over the past few months. You’ve been learning that it’s ok to take up more space in the world, literally or figuratively, and now it’s time to adjust to that new bandwidth. Reflect on your growth as an individual as of late and take time to solidify the beautify you’ve been cultivating.
Jupiter will station retrograde in your 12th house. You’re not always known as a restful sign, typically preferring the swift cadence of the mind, but Jupiter retrograde wants you to relax. You’re beginning to appreciate the deliciousness of alone time and prioritizing it will serve your growth. Nap time is encouraged!
Jupiter will station retrograde in your 11th house. The communities you’re part of are just beginning to flourish in a way you might’ve only once dreamed. Notice the many new friendships that have entered your life this summer and take some time to integrate that abundance within your creative life. How are you contributing to the bustling whole?
Jupiter will station retrograde in your 10th house. You’ve undoubtedly been receiving the bounty of the great benefic in your career the past few months- and now it’s time to review what it all means. What have you begun that you’re truly excited about, and where have you overcommitted? Practice gratitude for the many manifestations that have arrived in bloom.
Jupiter will station retrograde in your 9th house. You’ve moved recently, whether literally or figuratively, thanks to Jupiter’s visit and now it’s time to digest your newfound digs. How have your belief systems simultaneously grounded you…and provided opportunities to fly? Voracious learning is beautiful and this retrograde is the opportunity to integrate all that newfound wisdom.
Jupiter will station retrograde in your 8th house. Since entering this area of your life, cathartic transitions have been coupled with a spoonful of honey. While Jupiter won’t make old hurts magically disappear, it will help digest them. This retrograde wants you to honor the abundant resources you have at your disposal and how they’re aiding your ultimate transformation.
Jupiter will station retrograde in your 7th house. You’ve been navigating a plethora of new partnership opportunities since May, and this retrograde wants you to discern the ones that have staying power…then dig into them even deeper. Ponder what growth edges you’ve come up against and use this time to weed out any agreements that don’t support your evolving strengths.
Jupiter will station retrograde in your 6th house. You’ve acquired some newfound ease with your routines lately, and Jupiter’s retrograde wants you to solidify those practices. Acknowledging the benefits of good health is important for you now, as is prioritizing your growing commitment to them. Leaning into the magic of the mundane is your current task at hand.
Jupiter will station retrograde in your 5th house. You might’ve had paramours lined up around the block this summer, and Jupiter’s retrograde is urging you to make sense of them. ]]>Uranus is an outer planet that was discovered in 1781. It was the first planet to be discovered by telescope, although originally it was thought to be a comet or a star. Learning about the Uranus’ planetary properties is especially helpful when trying to understand what it means for us here on Earth.
For example, did you know that Saturn isn’t the only planet with rings? Uranus also has rings, 13 of them to be exact. This ties the planet, like Saturn, to ideas around boundaries. Uranus also, like Venus, rotates from East to West…but is unique in that it rotates on its side!
The element “Uranium” was named after Uranus just eight years (the length of one Venus cycle) after its discovery. Uranium is a heavy metal substance that’s capable of both abundant and concentrated energy. This isn’t unlike Uranus itself, as it’s extremely hardworking and diligent, but as it's associated with fixed sign Aquarius, the energy is typically focused rather than scattered.
Uranus also has a grand total of 27 Moons…25 of which are named after Shakespeare characters! This is special, because most other planetary Moons are named after ancient mythologies. Not to mention Shakespeare having an inarguable influence over the collective consciousness (the domain of Uranus) for more than 400 years.
Knowing all of these interesting associations, Uranus has come to be known as a planet full of unique surprises. Wherever we find it residing in our birth chart is a place where we think outside the box, and don’t want to subscribe to traditional norms. When we experience a Uranus transit personally (looking at you Uranus opposition AKA midlife crisis at approximately 40 years old) and/or collectively, things tend to go sideways.
Sometimes it’s necessary to reinvent the wheel, and nothing displays that as clearly as Uranus in Taurus. Uranus entered Taurus in May of 2018 and will remain in the sign until April of 2026. Because it’s been in Taurus’ earthly realm for the past five years, we’re now more than halfway through its transit so you would think we might know what to expect…but with Uranus, that never seems to be the case!
Though, we can observe the shake ups we’ve seen in both financial and food sectors (both Taurean domains) in recent years. From crypto currency to plant based meats, Uranus in Taurus is electrifying what was once solid and predictable ground.
Uranus is retrograde for about half the year, every year, so rather than the jarring confusion we can feel with a Mercury retrograde, for example, Uranus’ retrograde journey is more about integrating collective awakenings. Questions like, “how can I be a better global citizen?” and “what does the future look like for my community?” are worth pondering with this energy.
Uranus stations retrograde this year on August 28th/29th, depending on your timezone, and won’t station direct again until January 27th, 2024. And again, while we shouldn’t ever assume to know exactly what’s coming with Uranus, we can make a few educated guesses…
It’s always helpful to notice the planet that rules the retrograde sign, and because we’re talking about Uranus in Taurus, that planet is Venus. That means that during the Uranus retrograde, all things Venusian are once again up for review. If this sounds familiar, that’s because Venus herself has been retrograde for what feels like forever…so we’re getting an extra dose of critical examination for our love lives through the end of 2023.
The Moon is in Aquarius in the Uranus retrograde chart, while Uranus itself is in the first house (ruled by a retrograde Venus in Leo). There are dueling interests here between the personal and the collective consciousness. We could be feeling frustrated by society and needing to take a critical look at how we, individually, are (or aren’t) contributing to the well-being of the whole. Don’t be surprised if inspiration strikes like lightning around the time of the station. The real task, however, will be containing it!
As a transpersonal planet, this retrograde will mostly be felt on a collective level. However, if you have planets or points between 17-25 degrees of the fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius) this period could be felt personally.
These horoscopes were written based on your rising sign. The rising sign indicates which house Uranus is currently transiting in your birth chart.
The Moon is talked about all the time in astrology. You’ve probably heard that it relates to our emotions, our Mother, and how we feel nourished. Those are all true significators. But what is often missed in discussions are some of the basics around the Moon’s physical, planetary attributes.
Did you know that the Moon, for example, doesn’t give off any light of its own? We can see it shining in the night sky, but that’s only a reflection of the Sun’s light. That awareness alone is enough to write a dissertation! What does it say about the Moon, about us, that our inner world is a reflection of our outer world? The Moon elicits deeply psychological questions.
Another among them might be that there’s no air to breathe on the Moon. That might seem like a simple space fact…but when we’re observing it through the lens of our emotions, it becomes a lot more interesting. Air is all about conversation and intellect. Without it readily available on the Moon, it seems to suggest our feelings must first be felt before they can be dissected logically.
Finally, we only ever see one side of the Moon from Earth, bringing up a contemplation around perspective. How can we know ourselves fully if we only view our emotions from one angle? Pink Floyd, knowingly or otherwise, dipped their toes into some sympathetic magic by naming their successful 8th album The Dark Side of the Moon. It was very much a musical journey centered around mental health.
Understanding some of the significations of the Moon, we can think about its cycles.
There’s a lot of confusion around Blue Moons, and that seems to be because there are two different kinds that often get referred to interchangeably. Let’s look at the differences!
This is the most common definition people are referring to when they talk about a Blue Moon- and it’s the kind we’re experiencing this month.
We typically have 12 Full Moons per year, one per month. However, once in a Blue Moon…we have a 13th! This has nothing to do with the Moon appearing blue in color, and everything to do with the rarity of the event. Because the Moon takes approximately 29.5 days to reach fullness, if there’s a Full Moon on the 1st of the month (like we had this month on August 1st) there will be a second by the end of the month- which is why we’re experiencing this one on the 30th.
This was the original definition of the Blue Moon, and originated before the more popular use above.
One astronomical season (defined by the solstices and equinoxes AKA Spring, Summer, Winter, and Fall) comprises about 3 months. There are typically, then, three Full Moons within each of them. When there are four, however, the third in the series is called a Blue Moon.
Funny enough, these two different definitions originated because of a misprint in a magazine back in the 1940s. The Seasonal Blue Moon came first, but by the 1980s the media were referring to Blue Moons using the Calendar Blue Moon definition. Remember the fact about there being no air on the Moon?! All things lunar are classically misinterpreted.
Generally speaking, the two definitions are quite similar. They really only differ in the timing of how they’re tracked/reported. Which brings us to Saturn’s involvement this year…
Lunations are never stand alone events. While they have their own birth chart, deeper exploration connects them with previous astrology. The Moon is cyclical and loves to remember the past, and we’re served by doing the same when la luna is at her brightest.
With any Full Moon, it’s helpful to look back at the corresponding New Moon to remember how far we’ve come. The New Moon that corresponds with this one was on February 19th, 2023. What were you doing back then? Can you notice any similarities or full circle moments that seem to be culminating now?
Of course this lunation is not just any full Moon, though…it’s a BLUE Moon and this one is full of synchronicities. The most obvious standout is that it’s occurring at 7° of Pisces, which happens to be the exact same degree that Saturn stationed retrograde back on June 17th, 2023. This date also marked a New Moon in Gemini! As if a Blue Moon on its own wasn’t special enough already, this one is making multiple connections to other big astrological events of our year.
Not all lunations are “easy” and this is one that falls in a more difficult camp because of its involvement with Saturn. . But, as ever, the Moon is about witnessing it all unapologetically. If uncomfortable feelings like sadness or frustration arise, they’re not meant to be disruptive. Quite the opposite! Intense emotions actually give us the gift of awareness. When we’re hurting- emotionally, physically, or likely in this case, psychically, we’re forced to pay attention…and attention is a generous gift.
When things are easy, it’s commonplace to get swept up and not process what else is going on under the surface. But with Saturn intrinsically involved in this special Blue Moon lunation, we’re being asked to slow down and look under the hood of our own feelings.
Luckily, the traditional ruler of this Blue Moon is Jupiter, the great benefic, that’s currently residing in Taurus. And because it’s making a helpful connection with a retrograde Mercury in Virgo, revisiting old conversations, especially around boundaries, could be an especially helpful task during this Full Moon.
It’s also important to note that not every single Full Moon, or even Blue Moon, will resonate with you on a deeply personal level. While we’re all influenced by the Moon to some degree, those with personal planets between 5° and 9° of the mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces) will feel this lunation most intensely.
As you can see, a Blue Moon is far from one thing…it’s MANY things! We’re so lucky to experience these special lunations, and honoring them in both specific and unique ways is an opportunity that shouldn’t be missed. But ultimately, remember that everything outlined here is a mere suggestion for how to work with these lunations. The Moon, Blue Moons and otherwise, wants to be truly felt and experienced above all else, so the best advice is making your relationship with her personal and sacred.
So, what’s next? While August 30th, 2023, is the only Blue Moon this year, be sure to mark your calendars for the next ones coming up. We won’t have the “typical” Blue Moon we’re celebrating this year again until 2026!
Mercury is the quickest moving planet in our solar system, regularly spending just a few weeks in a sign at a time. It’s also known as “The Messenger” planet as it acts like a constantly moving game of telephone: reporting what was said from one person to another…typically with more regard for the novelty of the transmission than the quality of information being shared!
For this reason, Mercury is defined by its trickster energy. While it can help you sit down and write a lengthy research paper, it might also send a few funny resources your way that you never imagined you’d come across. Mercury’s M.O. is connection above all else. Whether that’s in the form of stringing together enough words to eventually form a book, or creating a group chat of friends and acquaintances hopeful for zingers that keep the day interesting.
Life would be a lot more dull without Mercurial energy. Rather than fear the planet's tricky ways, it’s best to embrace its quirks and enjoy the ride.
Because of the simultaneous Venus Retrograde in Leo as Mercury stations retrograde in Virgo this year, it feels like a wink from the Universe. Rather than just being able to learn Venus’ lessons and move on, we’re forced to take a critical eye over what transpired, and use Mercury’s discernment in Virgo to integrate our reevaluations.
It’s one thing to feel differently now, especially come September 3rd once Venus is direct, and quite another to organize our life based around those reestablished values systems we’ve acquired. If Mercury is the planet that enjoys knowing what everyone’s up to, in Virgo, it’s about making logical sense of it through clearing away the superfluous bits of information.
Mercury in Virgo is in the sign not only of its rulership, but also its exaltation. Mercury is very happy here, and supremely efficient. This retrograde truly wants to help! It's also occurring at the start of Virgo Season, a timely Universal alignment.
An important thing to note about all planetary retrogrades is what’s known as the “shadow period.” These periods, bookending all retrogrades, mark the time when a planet crosses over the degrees it visited before the retrograde began. They’re a distinct part of the retrograde story and act as the build up (the pre-retrograde shadow) and the resolution (the post-retrograde shadow) of the overall story.
All in all, from August 3rd through September 29th, we’ll be unpacking our experience with Mercury’s retrograde in Virgo.
Pre-Shadow begins: 8º Virgo on August 3 at 4:59 pm PST
Mercury stations retrograde: 21º Virgo on August 23 at 12:59 pm PST
Mercury stations direct: 8º Virgo on September 15 at 1:21 pm PST
Post-Shadow ends: 21º Virgo on September 29 at 10:15 pm PST
These horoscopes were written based on your rising sign. The rising sign indicates which house Mercury is currently transiting in your birth chart.
Mercury will station retrograde in your 6th house. While Venus’ retrograde has been busy reconnecting you with your inner child, Mercury wants to know how you’re going to bring them along to play in your 9-5 life. While there could be a few hiccups (literally and figuratively) over the coming weeks- they’re meant to show you where your body could use some extra love and care. Trust yourself to discern “friend or foe” when it comes to your routines.
Mercury will station retrograde in your 5th house. You’ve been busy deep diving, and maybe even dumpster diving, around your home thanks to Venus’ retrograde, and now it’s time to creatively integrate what you’ve uncovered. If that old photo album could talk…what would it say? If you’ve been reckoning with real life family dynamics, maybe it’s time to give a voice to your inner (or outer!) child. How might they navigate the present circumstances?
Mercury will station retrograde in your 4th house. No one has to encourage you to spend time with your friends…but Venus’ retrograde has been asking you to review that time. If you’ve realized that certain people have been draining rather than life giving- now is the time to reset your foundations. As Mercury is your ruling planet, a few difficult conversations may arise, but have no doubt they’re setting up your circles for long-term success.
Mercury will station retrograde in your 3rd house. With Venus concurrently retrograding through your 2nd house, your mind is on your value systems and how you communicate them. If you’re hoping for a raise at work, use the coming weeks to craft your pitch. Figuring out what you desire was the deepest work of this period and now it’s time to polish the manifestation aspect. If you feel like a fish out of water in this terrain, remember that everyone was once a beginner.
Mercury will station retrograde in your 2nd house. Combined with Venus finishing its retrograde in your 1st house of self, the coming weeks are a deep review of your personal values. It could be as simple as realizing how your new style choices have impacted your credit card statement, or as complex as an identity overall that now needs to be articulately defined. Whatever evolution you’ve recently undergone, Mercury is here to help trim away any remaining excess.
Mercury will station retrograde in your 1st house and home sign. As Venus continues to traipse through your hidden realm and send subtle winks from the Universe, Mercury is ready to get on with the public show. As you prepare to display how much you’ve learned, know that this reveal will not be without its flaws. Rather than sweating the small stuff, trust that your personal imperfections are what make you, you- and that is always worthy of celebration.
Mercury will station retrograde in your 12th house. Coupled with your ruling planet, Venus, retrograding through your 11th house, it might be time for a little recharge. Stepping back from the allure of company isn’t always easy for you- but learning to enjoy the magic of your own energy is equally important. Pay close attention to your dreams over the coming weeks, both real and imagined, and don’t ignore their whispers.
Mercury will station retrograde in your 11th house. Anyone who’s privy to your inner circle knows just how hard you work, and that effort has likely been doubly true with Venus retrograde in your 10th. As you’ve reevaluated where you stand on the public stage, Mercury might have you shaking hands with previous conspirators. Don’t be afraid to (gently) remind people in your community of any favors they might owe…they could come in handy now.
Mercury will station retrograde in your 10th house. If you’ve been skipping down familiar roads lately with Venus’ backtracking, or perhaps backpacking, prepare for a travel re-route towards career matters. Maybe you’ve been considering different philosophies and now your public facing roles need to reflect them. Trust that whatever creative knowledge you’ve acquired recently can merge with your image, it just won’t happen overnight.
Mercury will station retrograde in your 9th house. Venus is also retrograde in your 8th house, reminding you that, like you, transformation is anything but casual. By this point, you might be ready to run away from it all! New doors might’ve opened thanks to old ones you allowed to close…but Mercury wants you to crawl before you run. Take your time truly digesting the endings you’ve been confronted with and know that your journey is just getting started.
Mercury will station retrograde in your 8th house. One on one partnerships aren’t always your cup of tea, but Venus’ simultaneous retrograde has been providing a crash course. With all that newfound knowledge, Mercury wants you to put it to use. How can you release control within your connections even further? Perhaps the quest centers around feeling your feelings, especially around merging, rather than just rationalizing them. Striving for perfection can be messy.
Mercury will station retrograde in your 7th house. If Venus’ retrograde hasn’t already created plenty of opportunities for growth…Mercury is here to finish the job. The focus? Your one on one partnerships. If you’ve been shining in your 9-5 lately and realizing you have less time for the important people in your life, there might be some friction. The work here is about taking care of yourself first, and allowing your intimate relationships to reflect that stability.

]]>While retrograde planets aren’t generally thought of as something to celebrate…there’s a specific moment within a retrograde cycle that brings a special kind of magic: the cazimi. When a planet is cazimi it is said to be “in the heart” of the Sun. Unlike being in close proximity to the Sun, which ends up overtaking a planet’s natural energies, when a planet gets really, really close (within a degree) to the golden ball of light, it’s instead purified by the Sun’s energy and becomes momentarily super charged. Rather than withering in the flames like Icarus, the planet is infused with the Sun’s brilliance and shines brighter and truer than ever.
A cazimi can happen in two different ways. The first is when a planet is retrograde, or appears to be moving backwards. It crosses the path of the Sun on its journey, and forms its “inferior conjunction.” On Venus’ retrograde journey, this is when Venus is between the Earth and the Sun and feels, literally, close to home.
The second time a cazimi happens is when it forms its “superior conjunction” which is when it’s traveling direct again and is on the other side of the Sun, much further away from Earth and therefore feeling less personal and perhaps more collective in nature.
The inferior conjunction of Venus and the Sun, our only Venus Cazimi this year, is on August 13th. It’s a special moment, because it marks the halfway point of this year’s Venus Retrograde story. The superior conjunction, the next Venus Cazimi, takes place on June 4th, 2024 in Gemini.
The other beautiful and important aspect of a Venus Cazimi is marking Venus’ transition from an evening star to a morning star. This journey further illustrates Venus Retrograde as being a period of transformation that culminates in a rebirth of our value systems.
Venus’ journey in the sky begins as an evening star, meaning we can observe it at night, rather than during the day. Venus then begins to appear moving backwards (the beginning of the retrograde period) and disappears from the night sky for approximately 2 months, entering an “underground journey.” This invisible period references the Sumerian myth of Inanna and her descent into the underworld.
When Venus reemerges, we experience the Venus cazimi moment which marks the planet's official transition from an evening star to a morning star. We won’t see Venus in the sky after the cazimi for seven days, when the planet then, as if by magic, appears as a morning star rising before the Sun with daytime visibility.
Venus’ morning star period then lasts for a total of 9 months…which just so happens to correspond with the biological cycle of human gestation! The sentiment “As Above, So Below” echoes here as we witness Venus’ journey mirroring the time it takes to create new life.
While you’ve probably heard that retrograde periods are not the time to begin something new, the Venus retrograde period comes with an exception! While the first half (the first 20 days) is about clearing away the old, the second half of Venus retrograde, beginning on the day of the Venus cazimi, marks the rebirth period of Venus. And with rebirth comes new beginnings!
If you do the work of letting go leading up to the Venus cazimi, there will be plenty of room to bring in more goodness during the second half of the retrograde period.
Mercury is an important planet in this specific Venus retrograde, as it was exactly opposite the Ascendant in the station chart. Mercury was also conjunct the Black Moon Lilith in the chart, suggesting that this Venus retrograde we’re learning how to transform our communications around our deepest, untamed desires.
Additionally, Uranus in Taurus was square Mercury and Black Moon Lilith, meaning that some of these conversations could arrive in our awareness like lightning! Stay open to your heart’s whispers being more progressive than in the past.
This Tarot spread has five questions, which corresponds with the throat chakra in numerology. Whether it’s this Venus cazimi or another one in the future, (the Venus cazimi in 2024 is in Gemini, which also relates to Mercury!) checking in with your mental health at the halfway point of the retrograde is always a supportive tool.
If you don’t work with Tarot cards, you can always use these questions as journal prompts instead, or write responses first and then see if the cards reflect how you’re feeling.
You never need an astrological reason to work with crystals, but the Venus cazimi is a potent portal to tap into the properties of certain stones. Remember that your intuition is your best guide when it comes to crystal work and that everything else is merely a guide. If you feel called to a certain stone on the day of Venus’ cazimi, pay attention to its properties! There’s likely something Venus, and your heart, are trying to tell you.
If you’d like a few suggestions for stones to work with on this special day, these are a few we love:
The heart chakra is what’s being activated during a Venus cazimi, as we’re moving from a more ego-centered state (the Sun) to a heart centered space (the Sun combined with Venus). Rather than shining purely from ego, the spotlight is in alignment with our core values. Green chalcedony supports the heart chakra through both color theory and healing properties. It inspires clear insights coupled with strength. It’s one thing to know what the heart wants, and it’s another to act on it authentically.
Because the Sun is the major player in a cazimi moment, it’s only appropriate to honor its brilliance with a stone after its own name. Sunstone is known as a stone of joy, and for good reason! It imbues us with positive energy and helps to clear away shadows (like pesky pre-retrograde drama) by purifying the aura. Much like Venus is blessed in the heart of the Sun during the cazimi, Sunstone holds us in golden warmth so anything out of alignment can melt away.
You’re likely familiar with clear quartz as it’s one of the first crystals many people are introduced to. Like the Sun bringing everything life, clear quartz amplifies and radiates whatever happens to be around its energetic field. Clear quartz is also known as a master healer…and Venus cazimi could be considered the same thing! Use this stone in any ritual work and the Universe will hear your intentions.
The day of a Venus Cazimi (and especially within a couple hours of it being exact) is an especially powerful moment for manifestation work. If you have a specific goal or desire in mind, feel free to hone in on that. Otherwise, a great way to tap into the opportunities that could be calling you is to notice a few different areas of your birth chart.
There are several factors at play when we think about the Venus Cazimi transiting a birth chart, but the first thing that’s helpful to know is which house it’s occupying. If you’re a Scorpio Rising, for example, 2023’s Venus Cazimi in Leo lands in your 10th house of career. That could point to a hyper-charged day for all things work related- and an ideal time to manifest that raise you’ve been after!
While the sign that Venus is currently navigating will be of major importance, your natal Venus is also a key player in this moment. Venus is a planet all about our values, and when it’s being purified by the Sun…it will help to clarify not only the specific energy around it on the day of the cazimi, but for years to come while it navigates many other signs- including yours! This moment is auspicious for making your values crystal clear, and amplifying what your heart desires most.
Because all cazimi moments happen because of the Sun, it’s a critical player in the configuration. More than anything else, it’s about clarifying YOU! Take some time to really get to know not just your Sun sign, but its house in your natal chart, as well as any aspects it might be making. As much as this moment is about Venus, it’s about your flavor of Venus, and what you need to make your heart sing.
Whether you utilize all of these suggestions on Venus cazimi or none of them, it’s impossible to do this moment wrong. Simply be present, and as ever, listen to your unfolding and evolving desires. The heart wants what it wants!
]]>You’ve likely developed an appreciation of spirituality. You run towards cosmic wisdom with open arms — and we love that about you!
You’re open to Universal insight, and messages from the Divine. You’re aware that being open’s the fast-track way to stay in alignment with the highest version of yourself.
Openness, curiosity, and awareness are beautiful qualities to embody. Especially when connecting to something larger than life. Call it what you want — The Universe, The Cosmos, the Metaphysical realm, or any other title.
You’re tapped into yourself, and tuned into the high-vibrational frequency of the Universe. Signs and synchronicities appear in abundance when you’re tuned in.
They emerge as tiny synchronicities like repeating numbers, symbols, animals, or colors. Regardless of their appearance, signs, and synchronicities are here to share a message with you.
We’re not only diving signs and synchronicities, but how to be open and receptive to them.
Signs and synchronicities from the Universe are nuanced. They’re subjective, making them unique to their receiver. There’s no one correct meaning across the board. Your 11:11 may mean something completely opposite to someone else, and that’s okay.
We always encourage you to use your intuition in all that you do. Whether that’s building a sacred altar in your home, creating a crystal grid for a Moon circle, or deciphering cosmic messages.
Above all else, check in with your intuition first. It’ll never lead you astray.
For example, if 11:11 represents new beginnings for you, then stick with your initial gut feeling. There’s a wealth of information circulating online, follow what feels right for you.
There’s no “right” or “wrong” meaning behind your signs and synchronicities. So, with every drop of cosmic wisdom we share we invite you to step into your inner knowing. After that, take what resonates and leave the rest.
Tiny signs and synchronicities are manifesting around you all the time, it’s a matter of being open to them.
How can you be open to signs and synchronicities?
Being open means you’re energetic vibrations in receiving mode. Your heart and mind’s open and receptive to messages from the Divine, gifts, and guidance. Self-awareness also brings space to notice, receive and appreciate signs and synchronicities.
It’s trusting that everything has meaning and nothing’s “random.” You’re simply watching and listening because you know the Universe is always communicating with you.
Being open to receiving means you trust that everything’s happening for you. All in perfect timing.
Magical signs and synchronicities flow into your life as a purposeful reminder that you’re…
☽ In the right place, at the right time.
☽ Divinely guided and protected. You’re never alone.
☽ Open to receive. Everything you desire is here, or on its way.
☽ Aligned with the Universe, and the highest version of yourself.
☽ Taking intentional steps towards your desired future. You’re headed your right direction.
Repetitive numbers have to be our ultimate favorite Universal message.
11:11’s been appearing for me, day after day.
Repeating 111’s often signifies new beginnings, evolution, or changes coming your way. The Universe sees the work you’ve put in. It’s opening the floodgates of expansion so you can step into the next level of your life. Everything you’ve been working towards is on its way, have no doubt.
Cosmic messages come in many forms, not just as numbers on a clock.
I’ve seen them embedded in totals on a receipt, the odometer in my car, an address, or the time stamp when I paused my favorite podcast. The Universe loves getting creative.
This doesn’t mean you’re searching for signs and synchronicities all day long. Watching the clock, waiting for it to strike 1:11 cancels out the magic.
Cosmic messages don’t come with force or apprehension. So, trust, relax, and let go, because they’re heading your way in divine timing.
Triple 222s have been revealing themselves as well.
222 symbolizes harmony and balance. Seeing 2:22 on the clock (or anywhere else!) means you’re successfully co-creating with the Universe, and forging healthy relationships.
If 222’s consistently floating into your experience, sit and ask yourself — what are these numbers expressing to me? Does it represent harmony and balance or something different?
Take a few deep breaths, and allow your intuition to give you its answer. It’ll be loud and clear if you’re open to receive.
☽ ☽ Pro Tip: Ask yourself what were you doing, how you were feeling, or what thoughts you were thinking when you noticed a sign or synchronicity. There’s magical insight in that exact moment. ☽ ☽
Did you notice 222 while having a hard conversation with a friend? Keep crafting healthy boundaries and speaking your truth to keep your relationships balanced. You’re right on course.
So, what about 888?
888’s represent power and limitless abundance. It’s a fiery reminder to live an empowered, fierce, life. asking you to reflect — are you stepping into your power?
Here’s your sign to take advantage of the upcoming 8/8 Lion’s Gate portal. It’s representative of Leo season's courageous solar energies.
It’s unconditional love rooted in joy. The Sun's light opens a door to step into the wholeness of who you are.
Signs and synchronicities don’t just manifest as numbers. Sometimes they show up as…
Feathers appearing every time you take a walk or explore outside. Feathers often represent transcendence of barriers, freedom, or gaining a higher perspective.
Symbols you notice over, and over again. For example, you may see the Flower of Life, Hamsa Hand, a Zodiac Sign, or a specific Chakra symbol. If a symbol repeatedly catches your attention, dive deeper into its meaning — what message is it trying to share with you?
Signs and synchronicities can also manifest as spirit animals, colors, shapes, and more.
So, you’ve received your cosmic message — what do you do next?
You do nothing.
Signs and synchronicities don’t require further action.
They’ve appeared to you because you’re already in your flow state. You’re currently taking the right steps, in the right place at the right time. All you need to do is trust and express gratitude for the cosmic message you’ve received.
Signs and synchronicities are sweet reminders to release control, force, or fear. The Universe wants you to receive its messages.
Trust that everything’s happening for you, not against you. When you’re open to receive, life unfolds effortlessly.
And, along the way, you’ll receive small cosmic reminders that all is as it should be.

]]>You’ve constantly heard this term swirling around online whether it’s your favorite spiritual teacher encouraging a gratitude practice or searching for gratitude affirmations to start your day.
Gratitude’s gained popularity for a beautiful reason— it’s a simple concept that can drastically change your life for the better.
But, what is gratitude, and how can you infuse its energy into your life?
Gratitude’s a potent energy. It’s one of the highest vibrational frequencies you can experience. It vibrates higher than love at 540MHz, infusing you with euphoric waves of positive energy.
It’s the frequency that attracts your deepest desires while keeping you present, grateful, and aligned.
Experiencing gratitude feels like complete and utter presence. It’s savoring all of life’s pleasures— big and small. It’s the overwhelming feeling of appreciation for everything you are, and everything you have.
It’s a “muscle” that needs to be worked consistently, with the goal being a constant state of gratitude. That’s where the gratitude practice comes in.
So, what’s the easiest way to build a gratitude practice?
Daily gratitude journaling.
Write down things that bring you happiness, peace, or satisfaction. Maybe it’s your freshly brewed cup of coffee in the morning, hot sunshine kissing your skin, supportive friends & family, or the roof over your head.
When you start tapping into gratitude, you’ll notice how abundant you already are.
Dedicating a small portion of your morning to journaling is powerful. But, remember this is your time, so do what feels good for you.
Your gratitude journaling practice can ebb and flow.
The key to building a long-term gratitude journaling practice is showing up daily. Consistency is key. If you feel called to devote 30 mins to journaling in the morning, that’s wonderful. If you only have the energy to write down one small thing you’re grateful for, that’s great too.
Remove the pressure to make this practice ‘perfect’.
The goal isn’t to fill up your gratitude journal or cross journaling off your daily to-do list. The goal is to feel gratitude while you’re writing— gratitude can become your default state of Being.
Starting a fresh, new day with a gratitude journaling practice will:
Making lists of what you’re grateful for trains your brain to think positively— you’ll naturally focus on what’s going well, as opposed to what’s not going well. It’s an invitation to remove default worst-case scenario thoughts, stress, and worry.
You’re spending quality time with yourself, turning your focus inward instead of outward. You’re less likely to compare yourself to others because you’re deeply satisfied with your life.
You’re acknowledging the good in your life, which makes you feel grateful, content, and optimistic. If you’re thinking positive thoughts, the Universe will reciprocate that energy (the Universe loves gratitude! The more you embody the feeling of gratitude, the more goodies will come your way.)
It’s been scientifically proven that gratitude can lower inflammation in your body, reduce stress and improve your sleep patterns. Your daily journaling practice can be therapeutic.
I’ve had a gratitude journaling practice for over 15 years— it’s a staple in my daily rituals. It’s helped me cultivate a positive frequency, that I’m proud to share with the world. I’ve journaled throughout my world travels, my decision to get married, and the birth of my children.
It’s truly become the foundation of my life.
I’ve collected countless journals over the years and began noticing that I would make gratitude lists. I’d make lists of what I was grateful for each morning, then I’d write five things I want to accomplish today and five things I want to do in my life. I call it the 5/5 list.
Then, I write a mantra to set the tone of my day.
Creating a daily gratitude journaling practice will have a profound effect on your energy. You’ll appreciate everything and everyone. You’ll notice all of life's simple pleasures and relish in them. You’ll naturally feel abundant.
It’s your daily dose of high-vibrational energy. Joy, peace, and love naturally flow into your life when you’re grateful— it’s profound but simple.
The Daily Journal’s a beautiful addition to any morning ritual. It’s designed to help you make gratitude lists, write your daily mantra, and leaves space for you to reflect before you go to bed.
Start journaling what you’re grateful for every morning and watch your life transform, one day at a time.

]]>Chiron was discovered in 1977 by an American astronomer named Charles Kowal. While searching for distant galaxies in the sky, he ended up capturing Chiron on a photo plate on October 18th. However, it wasn’t until reviewing his findings on November 1st that he discovered an unknown object distorting the images. It came to be known as a comet called Chiron.
To learn more about Chiron, we can look at the way it moves in the sky, and even the way it was discovered, to begin to uncover what it might have to teach us here on Earth. Chiron’s orbit, for example, is erratic. It moves between Saturn, the last visible planet, and Uranus, the first “invisible” planet (in that it can’t be viewed by the naked eye) at varying intervals in each of the signs.
So we know that Chiron showed up on the scene unexpectedly, while an astronomer was actually looking for something else, and we know that its movements are varied- never staying a prescriptive amount of time in one place. If you’ve ever taken a psychology course or read a self-help book…this process might remind you of what it’s like to heal.
Our healing journeys, and the wounds that elicit them, rarely show up because we’re seeking them out. They burst onto the scene, unapologetically, ready to be felt and demanding to be integrated. Chiron, therefore, is all about that transformative process of healing. It tasks us with moving from the visible wounds- the ways we cope with or mask our actual wounds, like addictions or escapist tendencies, to the unseen, yet always felt, core wound that we often self-medicate.
Another big part of this work is releasing the burden that our wounds always directly stem from ourselves. Of course they do in many ways- but they’re also generational, collective, and possibly even remnants from past lives. It’s important to have empathy with ourselves as we face our fears and take the steps to heal, and to acknowledge that healing doesn’t exist in a vacuum. The adage, “the trauma might not be your fault, but the healing is your responsibility” comes to mind when working with Chiron.
Joining Venus Retrograde, Saturn Retrograde and Neptune Retrograde, Chiron will be the latest heavenly body to join the retrograde party, stationing on Sunday, July 23rd- the first full day of Leo Season. Because Chiron is currently in Aries, it’s significant that this station happens as the Sun enters its exaltation in Leo. Our wounds, and their healing, are now center stage.
Chiron in Aries, the sign of the headstrong Ram, asks us, point blank, what we’re fighting for and why. And coupled with the North Node that’s also newly in Aries, we’re quite literally being asked to move towards our healing.
Chiron will be in Aries from 2018-2027, so this is not an overnight healing journey. And of course healing never is! But a retrograde has a way of pulling focus, so for the second half of 2023 especially, we all might feel a particular push to really attack our wounds, and their healing, head on.
In Aries, Chiron is concerned with our identity and the things that define the way we uniquely move through the world. It’s unafraid of conflict- and might actually disturb the peace intentionally, in order to maintain a healing process of full steam ahead.
These horoscopes were written based on your rising sign. The rising sign indicates which house Chiron is currently transiting in your birth chart.Aries
Chiron will station retrograde in your 1st house. If you haven’t begun to confront it yet- the time is ripe for addressing any and all body hang ups that might continue to plague your human form. What old narratives about how you show up in the world are you ready to transmute? While the scars might never fully disappear, the stories you tell yourself (and others) about how they got there are what really matter now.
Chiron will station retrograde in your 12th house. This is a liminal space, and Chiron wants to help you make sense of the more nebulous areas of your life- though, of course, this work will happen behind the scenes. Your dreams could be a particularly healing place during this retrograde, and are worthy of close inspection. If you attempt to define the “why” behind the ways you’re checking out, you might just be able to check back in.
Chiron will station retrograde in your 11th house. The communities you’re part of might be the outlet for your ultimate healing now…though, this won’t come without conscious attention. Notice the group conversations you’re having and even the ones you’re observing online and in the media. What are they stirring up in you personally? When you experience an intense conviction around what’s happening in the hive-mind, see it through.
Chiron will station retrograde in your 10th house. You’re concentrating on your life’s legacy in this space…but Chiron here wants you to know that healing is your ultimate purpose on the world’s stage right now. Rather than pushing towards success to no end, pause to notice the wounds you have surrounding appearing successful. Who originally told you that should be the aim? And instead, what does success look like on your terms, and how does it make you feel?
Chiron will station retrograde in your 9th house. Chiron transiting this area of your life suggests that the philosophies that expand it can also be a bit rough around the edges right now. Are there belief systems you’re still in the process of unlearning? Chiron stationing retrograde here wants you to re-examine the beliefs you hold true…and find a way to make them your own. Feel free to run head first into a new adventure, but also pause and ask yourself why you’re headed that way in the first place.
Chiron will station retrograde in your 8th house. Spirituality doesn’t get more transformational than this! This retrograde could mark a distinct change in the headwind of your healing journey and help to make sense of the endings that have been occurring for you. There’s a conversation around control here and what you’ve come to believe about the responsibilities attached to power. Letting go is the key to your transformation right now. Let the chips fall where they may.
Chiron will station retrograde in your 7th house. Chiron residing in this place gives you the opportunity to heal through your committed partnerships. When it stations retrograde, though, coupledom won’t arrive without a spoonful of medicine to help your bleeding wounds go down. In order to realize the relationships you crave, vulnerability (of everyone involved) about past hurts will be the key to preventing future scars.
Chiron will station retrograde in your 6th house. There’s something that might feel a bit crunchy in your 9-5 life, whether that’s your physical health or the habits that’ve been maintaining it (or not). Taking a retrospective look at the way you’re moving through your day could be especially healing. Do you set an alarm clock? What are your beliefs around productivity? When triggers arise, know that they’re anything but mundane- they’re the keys to your spiritual healing.
Chiron will station retrograde in your 5th house, making creativity feel like a major bugaboo. Whether you’ve been stumped with your latest artistic project or have a lover that’s bringing up past hurts, Chiron retrograde here wants you to process the pain through your inner-child. Write a poem about what happens when you hear an ice cream truck, or buy a hula hoop and get into your body. Being silly can also be deep, cathartic work.
Chiron will station retrograde in your 4th house. Our past, and the stories that are passed down from generation to generation about it, can be incredibly difficult to navigate. Even if your lineage isn’t full of too much drama- there’s unlearning to do here. Because where families exist, so too, does some form of pain. Learn, or relearn, the stories your ancestors told and try to discover how you fit in with their narratives. If you find that you don’t…decide to write your own.
Chiron will station retrograde in your 3rd house. Friendships become the healer’s stomping grounds because of Chiron’s presence here, and could mean your friends are busy bringing out some of your growth edges. It’s important to notice red flags during your weekly book club…but with Chiron’s retrograde, it’s equally important to know what deep seated struggles you’re bringing to the circle. The company you keep is ready to help you heal, and the possible tough love their dishing up is nothing you’re not ready to digest.
Chiron will station retrograde in your 2nd house. Money is rarely a Piscean’s favorite topic, usually because of the fact that it’s just so…practical. With Chiron transiting this area of your life, though, understanding money as energy becomes the biggest gift you can give yourself. Writing a list of your values, and how those values would be aided by financial support, rather than hindered, would be helpful for this journey. Your values are never the enemy.
]]>The Lunar Nodes direct the energy of the collective. The South Node illuminates energies that we have been attached to, particularly the lower vibrations of the sign involved. When looking at the South Node, we are considering what the collective needs to move away from to evolve. This also means that the lower vibrations of the sign involved are highlighted so we can clearly see and understand them.
The South Node has currently been in Scorpio, exposing the underbelly of society. On a collective level, we have seen war play out in our headlines brought on by a ruler whose quest for power has caused the deaths of many. Certainly, this falls under the lower vibrations of Scorpio. Scorpio’s high side teaches us to deal with our shadows and find power within them to transform and rebirth. The low side, though, can cause chaos and destruction as it has in Ukraine. We’ve also seen the killings of so many through mass shootings, a topic that is not new to our lives but has been illuminated greatly in the past two years in an effort to bring change and awareness to how destructive members of our society can be. Again, we are seeing what happens when people abuse their power and reach for destruction instead of going inward to face shadows and transform wounds.
The Nodes are always affecting us on a collective and personal level. We’ll dive deeper into the upcoming Eclipse workbooks on how the Nodal shifts impact you personally based on your personal Nodal placements. For now, recognize how themes of chaos and drama have played out in your life over the last eighteen months while the South Node landed in Scorpio. Have you experienced any situations where you needed healing but instead caused drama to avoid the work needed to be done within? Have you found the courage to heal, or is that still on your to-do list? Also, consider how any healing you may have done or gone through has taught you about your inner power and your ability to always create peace within. This is also a time to reflect on what shadows were revealed during the Scorpio Lunar Eclipse last May and how those shadows are integrating into the light.
The antidote to the lower vibrations brought up by the South Node is the North Node placement. The North Node has landed in Taurus for the last eighteen months. This energy encourages the collective to reach for peace. There have been great efforts on the collective level to talk about peace and even fight for it. Taurus also teaches us that nature provides the highest forms of peace to our nervous system. When we connect with Mother Nature, our nervous system slows and regulates. For many, being connected with nature has been the remedy for the anxiety brought on by the thought of war and years of worry brought on by a pandemic. This was our time to regulate our system and heal from the trauma of the last three years.
While the collective always has more healing to do, life has resumed to its new normal in the wake of mass fear and trepidation. We are healing, little by little, and we are remembering that nature is always there for us. We, of course, need to be there for her. Even if the collective has not completely healed its wounds, we have great awareness of the mental implications of quarantine, fear, and division. Awareness is the first step to healing.
On a personal level, the North Node in Taurus has inspired healing and connection with nature. Reflect on how you have found solace in the simple moments brought on by a sunset, fresh air, or a walk in nature. How have you connected with the abundance of nature to heal? Also, look at how you have focused on abundance in general over the last eighteen months. The headlines have screamed with fear with talks of economic downturns. How have you found abundance in all things, even when the collective pushed for scarcity? What tools have you created or are in the process of creating for yourself that protect your peace no matter what chaos is ensuing in the world?
As the Nodes move into Aries and Libra, the energy of the collective changes. The South Node in Libra shows us what we are moving away from, understanding, and evolving both on a collective and personal level. Again, with the South Node, we always looking at the shadow or lower vibrations. The lower vibrations of Libra are both passive aggressiveness and people-pleasing. They show up when we say yes when we really mean no. They cause us to sacrifice our priorities for others. They also cause us to keep the peace no matter if the price becomes too expensive.
Over the next eighteen months, expect to see these lower vibrations highlighted in society. They are indeed more positive than the lower vibrations of Scorpio, so expect to see some of the intensity in the collective to simmer down. Even if we get a bit of reprieve, we’ll still see themes of codependence, indecisiveness, and even inaction fill up our headlines. There may even be collective frustration brewing over the lack of progress or decisive action on the part of our leaders. The lower vibrations can make us feel like we are in limbo, and we may be left wondering who really is in charge.
On a personal level, the South Node in Libra will highlight areas of your life where you’ve swallowed your truth to be polite, only to end up bleeding on the inside. It will be crystal clear when you are people-pleasing or doing things for the sake of making someone else happy, even when it causes your own discomfort. Over the next eighteen months, the South Node in Libra and the Libra Eclipses are opportunities to let go of indecisiveness and passive aggressiveness. It’s time to stand in your truth instead of sidestepping it because you fear confrontation. This period is a time of decision, even if it means some people won’t like you. Start now to embrace the notion that not everyone will like you, and that’s ok. If you can accept this hard truth of life, you’ll easily navigate this transit.
The North Node is Aries represents the energies we are ready to integrate as a society. Aries answers the questions brought up by the South Node in Libra. Aries teaches us to stand up for ourselves and our truths. It helps us take decisive action that protects our peace, our soul’s purpose, and the reason we are here this lifetime. The North Node in Aries represents a time when the collective is encouraged to put themselves first. Please note that this transit isn’t about being selfish or hurting others. Rather it’s an illumination that when we each align with our soul’s purpose and put it first, the entire collective benefits. Reach for the highest vibration of this energy, and you won’t be perceived as selfish but instead motivated to pursue the path you are here to walk.
On a personal level, the North Node in Aries and the Aries Eclipses are an opportunity for you to be the person you say you are. It’s about having the courage to stand in your truth and defend your priorities. It’s about putting yourself first because you know that when you do, everyone around you benefits. It’s also a time to have uncomfortable conversations instead of swallowing what you need to say. Know that you can say anything with an open heart. Challenge yourself to have those needed conversations with others that lay the truth out on the table, but do it with compassion, honesty, and gratitude. This is your time to raise your vibration by wholeheartedly fighting for the life you know you are meant to live.
Feel into the changing energy the Lunar Nodes bring us and learn how they influence the New Moon in Cancer in the workbook.
]]>
In the darkness of the New Moon, the veil between the subconscious and conscious is lowered. We gain greater access to our desires, our fears, and our intuition. We can see the visions of our lives more clearly and understand our future paths. The darkness also softens us. With no light to shine on us, we can become more vulnerable and shed our armor. The New Moon helps us drop our defenses and feel more deeply. In doing so, we can contact the part of ourselves connected to all Universal knowledge.
The energy we hold is part of the energy of the cosmos. It all comes from the same source and has evolved into planets, stars, oceans, trees, animals, humans, and so much more. We are connected to everything we see and can’t see through the thread of energy. We are also connected to the past and the future, for energy knows no time. During the darkness of the New Moon, we can feel into the void that began everything. We can feel the connection between us and the vast energy field that makes up the Universe. We can reprocess the past, see the future, and feel into our souls through this connection. We can gain knowledge about what our souls are here to accomplish this lifetime and what we truly want for our lives.
This access to the deeper part of ourselves makes the New Moon a perfect time to set intentions. We can more clearly understand what we desire and what most aligns with our soul on a New Moon. This is the time of the Lunar cycle that we can feel into our subconscious, past our shadows, and truly understand the life our soul wants to live. Additionally, the spark of energy created by the conjunction of the Moon and Sun makes it the perfect time to transmit our intentions to the Universe. Through writing and even speaking them, we energetically send our visions to the cosmos and, in turn, receive support, serendipity, and confirmation.
While you always set intentions at any time, the New Moon creates a fertile foundation for you to plant seeds. These seeds are then carried through the entire Lunar Cycle, which consists of the first quarter Moon, the Full Moon, and the last quarter Moon. We then arrive back at the New Moon, where we can check in with our intentions and decide if they still resonate or if we want to create new ones. This lovely dance with the cosmos occurs every month, giving us a wonderful blueprint to live our lives. It all starts on the New Moon with a glimpse into the underlayers of your very being.
The New Moon always carries the theme of the zodiac sign it is positioned in. Some signs will show us paths forward, while others may show us paths inward. Over the course of a Lunar Cycle, the Moon moves through all twelve zodiac signs. It remains in a sign for about 2.5 days. Our next New Moon in one week will be in the energy of Cancer, the New Moon after that will be in Leo, and so on. The Cancer New Moon calls for inner contemplation. This New Moon is about our subjective experience with the world, meaning the way we interpret things, the conversations we have with ourselves, and how much we allow ourselves to open to the magic of the Universe. It’s about creating intentions that nourish us, and allow for self-care while honoring our intuition.
Align with the magic on this New Moon, to hear some of the more quiet whispers of your soul. Hear your intuition speaking to you and be open to the different methods it may communicate with you. Let it guide you and help you set intentions for the Lunar Cycle that honor your need for soul nourishment and replenishment. Listen to your intuitive hits and flashes of brilliance as they show you the way forward through the darkness of the New Moon.
Learn more about next week’s New Moon in the Cancer Workbook, ready to guide you through this potent start of the Lunar Cycle.
]]>Ask yourself which texture you feel more drawn to. And remember, the shape or texture of a crystal doesn’t determine its “strength” or “power”.
Smooth, tumbled stones have the same vibrational frequency as raw crystals. One isn’t better, or more energetically potent, than the other.
Yes, tumbled stones are real crystals.
Tumbled stones are raw stones or crystals that are churned in a rock-tumbling machine with water and grit, for a few days to weeks.
They come out in whimsical shapes of all kinds, without the sharp edges!
If you’re drawn to tumbled stones, you enjoy the polished look and feel. Holding them feels soft, gentle, and soothing to the touch.
Always use your intuition when working with crystals, and know there’s no “right” way to use (or choose!) crystals.
There’s only your way.
For my tumbled stone lovers, let’s dive into our six favorite ways to use your tumbled stones!
Sink deeper into a meditative state while holding your favorite tumbled stone.
Grasp your favorite palm stone (our fav is Moonstone!), in your hands while sitting in meditative lotus position. You can place tumbled stones around your body to form a protective energy cocoon. Or, while you’re laying in savasana, place correlating stones on each chakra point to open and cleanse your chakras.
Place blue Lapis Lazuli on your Third Eye chakra. Emerald green Chrysocolla on your Throat chakra. Pink Rose Quartz on your Heart chakra.
If you want to dive deeper into chakras, tap to read our blog— A Guide To The 7 Chakras + How To Align Them.
Infuse your body with high vibrational energy while holding your tumbled stones during meditation.
Carrying around your crystal companions will infuse crystalline energy into your day— no matter where you’re at, or who you’re with.
Change the stone you bring with you each day, so it aligns with your current energetic needs. Intuitively ask yourself how you’re feeling and what kind of support you need today.
Find your coinciding tumbled stone and pack it along with you in your pocket, or purse!
Bring green onyx for protection when beginning a new adventure, or Chrysocolla for peace and tranquillity during a stressful day.
Want a crystal for each day of your week? Customize your own crystal kit by tapping here.
Crystals grids are powerful, vortexes of Universal energy. They’re beautiful works of art that serve as a centerpiece for Moon Circles or any other sacred gatherings.
Sit with yourself, and set an intention for your crystal grid. What kind of energy would you like to call in? What crystals do you feel called to use while building your crystal grid?
Always start with a strong center, by placing either an Obsidian or Selenite Sphere in the middle. Then, build outwards.
There’s no “right” or “wrong” way to craft a crystal grid.
It always comes down to your intention— by setting clear intentions, you’ve already done half of the work in building your crystal grid.
Dig into your magical toolbox and start placing tumbled stones in a configuration that feels aligned with you.
→ Circular shapes can represent Water grids to bring healing and release.
→ Square or star shapes can represent Earth grids for protection and boundaries.
→ Star-burst shapes can represent Fire grids to help you align with dynamic energies like leadership and courage.
→ Spiral shapes represent Air grids that invoke softer energies like love, joy, and peace.
Build your crystal grid from your heart space, not your intellectual, thinking mind. And remember, there’s no “perfect” crystal grid.
Set up your magical tumbled stone grid to start manifesting your deepest desires.
Tumbled stones are smaller in size, which makes them the sweetest addition to any size altar.
Place stones in a way that’s visually pleasing to you. Collect all of your tumbled stones in an onyx bowl— this versatile bowl is the perfect addition to any altar. It’s perfectly sized to place your tumbled stones in during your morning or evening rituals.
Grab your favorite tumbled stones (the stones you resonate with the most), and set them on your altar to increase its vibration. For example— if your altar represents luck, prosperity, and abundance— you’ll sprinkle Jade around to boost lucky energy.
Your home is a sacred space, so creating a home (for me!) always includes decorating with tumbled stones. Their energy changes the dynamic of each room, and truly adds a special energy into your space.
Kids love tumbled stones! Don’t be afraid to place tumbled stones in children’s bedrooms or playrooms. Use Celestite to plant seeds of mindfulness in children who are learning how to direct their energy. It’ll emit a calming, harmonious frequency.
Place Amethyst onto your bedside table to calm your nervous system, bring peaceful sleep and encourage dream messages.
Adorn your dining room table with Rose Quartz tumbled stones to open everyone's hearts for loving communication.
Get creative when using tumbled stones— fill flower vases, place stones in your house plants, or form a protective energetic barrier by placing tumbled stones around the parameter of your home.
Tumble stones are a lovely way to begin your crystal journey. They’re smaller and inexpensive so you can start collecting with ease.

]]>Neptune is an outer planet that was discovered in 1846. It’s unable to be seen with the naked eye, which speaks to its “felt rather than seen” quality. Neptunian people are not ones that care to be on stage, or receive public accolades for their good deeds. This energy is one of the collective unconscious. Because Neptune rules both the monks in the monasteries as well as the prisoners on death row…it’s also an energy that separates us from comfortable, predictable reality.
Whether through transcendence or escapism, Neptune knows how to move beyond the ordinary.
Neptune entered its home sign of Pisces in 2011 and will remain in the sign until 2026. Because it’s been in Pisces’ watery depths for more than a decade now, this is one of many similar retrogrades we’ve experienced. Neptune is also retrograde for about half the year, every year, so rather than the jarring confusion we can feel with a Mercury or Venus retrograde, for example, Neptune’s journey is more about internal versus external perspectives.
Neptune stations retrograde this year on June 30th, 2023, and as ever, it’s encouraging a review of our subtle senses. However, since March of 2023, we have had Saturn co-present with Neptune in Pisces. This influences the energy of both planets, with Saturn attempting to add structure to Neptune…and Neptune equally trying to diffuse Saturn’s boundaries! With Saturn also retrograde in Pisces the second half of 2023, we’re being tasked with reconciling the energies of holding on and letting go.
Neptune will be in a sextile aspect to Pluto when it stations retrograde, and there will also be a Mercury cazimi on the same day. This alludes to the fact that this Neptune retrograde wants us to transform the way we communicate about our dreams- and perhaps to reimagine them entirely. Have we been thinking small, when there is so much more out there for us? The traditional ruler of Pisces is Jupiter, after all, and Jupiter thinks BIG! This is a period to release expectations and flow with the tides of our deepest, truest dreams…the bigger, the better.
As a transpersonal planet, this retrograde will mostly be felt on a collective level. However, if you have planets or points around 27 degrees of the mutable signs (the degree the planet will station retrograde) this period could be felt personally.
Neptune is the planet that connects us with the divine. To tap into the spirit of this energy, stay open to non-linear forms of healing making their way towards you. Pulling Tarot cards, meditating, and practicing yoga are wonderful modalities for accessing Neptune.
As spiritual as Neptune can be, it can also be deceptive. This planet is the epitome of empathy, which sometimes means wearing rose-colored glasses and forgetting to take them off. When you’re feeling called to be of service, remember to show the same kindness and compassion towards yourself. You can’t pour from an empty cup.
Neptune has a particularly soft spot for animals! If you have any furry friends in your home, use this retrograde as a period to review your relationship and shower them with affection. Any creature without a voice still deserves to be heard, and Neptune loves to listen.
These horoscopes were written based on your rising sign. The rising sign indicates which house Neptune is currently transiting in your birth chart.
Neptune will station retrograde in your 12th house. This is a liminal space, and Neptune is the ultimate liminal planet. The tendency to get carried away here is strong, but the retrograde will help pull you back to shore. Rather than just having profound dreams- you’ll be able to start making sense of them. Consider writing in a dream journal to reflect on the intuitive messages that repeat during waking hours.
Neptune will station retrograde in your 11th house. This area of your life is bursting with the hive mind- and might have a tendency of confusing other people’s ideals with your own. Neptune stationing retrograde here will remind you of just how big your dreams are and encourage you to define them on your own terms. It’s ok to be motivated by others, just don’t negate your unique desires.
Neptune will station retrograde in your 10th house. You’re concentrating on your life’s legacy in this space…but Neptune wants to diffuse that purpose into everyone else’s at the office. The retrograde here will steer you towards the motivations that serve both your desires and the rest of the conference room. Use this as a moment to recognize that what’s good for you is good for the group- no selfishness necessary.
Neptune will station retrograde in your 9th house. Neptune transiting this area of your life suggests that the philosophies that expand it can also have a way of escaping you! Neptune retrograde here wants you to re-examine the beliefs you hold true…and find a way to bring them down to Earth. Rather than being completely carried out to sea by a new idea, try talking through it along the shore.
Neptune will station retrograde in your 8th house. Spirituality doesn’t get more transformational than this! This retrograde could mark a turning of the tides in your healing journey as you’re now in a place to reevaluate the resources you share with others. When we give from our heart space, rather than expectation, our energy exchanges expand. Review where you give and where you take- and promise yourself to do both with intentional care.
Neptune will station retrograde in your 7th house. Neptune residing in this place instills a desire for your committed partnerships to sweep you away in love! When it stations retrograde, though, a more discerning look might be helpful. It’s one thing to manifest romance, and another thing to call in your ultimate soulmate. Rather than looking at relationships as something to fix, allow them to show up as a loving reflection.
Neptune will station retrograde in your 6th house. Navigating your 9-5 in a linear fashion is not Neptune’s MO. And especially when the planet is retrograde, taking a retrospective look at your habits could be supportive. If you’ve been sacrificing your own well-being for the benefit of others, this moment will prompt a return to balance. Never doubt that naptime is a valid addition to your schedule, as is daydreaming.
Neptune will station retrograde in your 5th house. Creativity is one of Neptune’s favorite pastimes, and you have the ultimate artistic touch with it transiting this area of your life. Neptune’s retrograde here is an opportunity to review your passion projects and ensure they’re something your inner-child would be proud of. Rather than pushing forward, allow yourself to slow down and let your muse(s) steer the ship.
Neptune will station retrograde in your 4th house. Empathy on the home front arrives in spades with Neptune in this part of your chart. With the planet stationing retrograde, excavating the dynamics of the family tree will be especially healing. Perhaps your lineage is ready to reveal something from a fresh perspective. Don’t be afraid to go spelunking into your ancestry and it’s deep, and likely unconscious, behaviors.
Neptune will station retrograde in your 3rd house. Friendships act as a warm embrace because of Neptune’s presence here, but they can also leave you feeling a little lost. It’s important to be a reliable shoulder to cry on…but with Neptune’s retrograde, it’s equally important for your own vulnerability. The company you keep is an empathetic bunch, and their nurturing can be a mirror for the care you deserve to give yourself.
Neptune will station retrograde in your 2nd house. It’s not the planet’s happiest home, as it would rather have its head in the clouds than the checkbook- but Neptune here can align your money with your core values. With the retrograde, a reconciliation of finances could come due. Have you been earning money ethically? Does your compensation align with the effort you’ve put forth? Review your energy exchanges honestly and don’t short change yourself.

Venus enters its pre-shadow period on June 19th at 12:12 AM PT when it hits 12° 12’ Leo. The way shadow periods work is they begin when the planet passes through the degree it will eventually station direct. Venus stations retrograde on July 22nd at 6:33 PM PT, twenty minutes before the Sun enters Leo. It stations retrograde at 28°36’ Leo and will travel all the way back to 12°12’ Leo, where it will station direct on September 3rd at 6:30 PM PT. It will then enter a post-shadow period where it will once again travel from 12°12’ to 28° 36’ Leo. Its post-shadow period will end on October 7th at 2:22 AM PT.
From June 19th until October 7th, Venus will travel from 12°12’ and 28°36’ Leo three times; forward, backward, and forward again. Look to your natal chart to see if you have any planetary placements from 12°- 28° Leo. This part of your chart will be most affected by this retrograde. You will also be particularly affected if you have planets in these degrees of Taurus, Scorpio, or Aquarius. Any planet that falls in this place of your chart will also be affected more intensely by Venus Retrograde. Since planets affect aspects of your personality and energy, if you have a planet at one of these high-intensity degrees, that part of your energy will undergo an evolution of the heart.
Everyone, though, no matter your natal chart, will feel the effects of Venus Retrograde. This planet stations retrograde five times over an eight-year period. The points where it meets the Sun while retrograde in the sky forms a pentagram or rose of Venus. This inferior conjunction occurs exactly every 584 days demonstrating the beauty and timeliness of the Universe. Venus will meet the Sun again in Superior conjunction once direct. This cycle of alignment determines if Venus is a morning star or an evening star. During the time from an Inferior to Superior Conjunction, Venus is a morning star being seen in the hours before sunrise. From the Superior to the next Inferior conjunction during its next retrograde, Venus is an evening star being seen hours after sunset.
Venus also retrogrades through only five signs; Capricorn, Aries, Gemini, Leo, late Libra/Scorpio. The last time Venus stationed retrograde in Leo was eight years ago, in 2015. Take some time before we enter this retrograde to think back to where you were and how you felt during that summer. Ask yourself if you need closure to any emotions of that period and how your heart has grown since then. Honor the person you were back then and the person you have become since. While you don’t want to spend too much time in the past, it’s important to make a note of where your heart was eight years ago and the journey it has endured since.
When Venus enters its pre-shadow phase on June 19th, you may begin to notice patterns of attachment and cycles of the heart. Your desires, along with your heart’s messages, will become increasingly revealed as we approach Venus stationing retrograde. Deeply held emotions will become transparent even if you’ve been suppressing them for years. Life will recede from the surface, and everything related to the heart will take on a deeper tone. Even short-term romances and summer flings will reveal a pattern of desire that rules your energy. You’ll begin to notice the people you attract and are attracted to energetically resemble figures of the past. You’ll also notice patterns of reactivity, drama, and codependency that reappear time and time again in longer-term relationships.
On a higher note, this pre-shadow period is also a time to enjoy what you find beautiful in the world. It’s a time to connect with your deeper sense of beauty and love. It’s truly a time to stop and smell the roses instead of passing them by. This period helps you dissolve patterns that cause you to live on the surface, not paying attention to the beauty that lies beneath. This pre-shadow period coincides with Cancer Season. Spend a few days playing in the beauty of life this time. Slow down, retreat to your inner sanctuary, and immerse yourself in beauty. Give yourself daily beauty reports, writing down all the things you find beautiful in your life right now. Break patterns that cause you to ignore your needs and instead shower yourself in love.
As Venus stations Retrograde on July 22nd, we also enter Leo Season. With this Sun and Venus in Leo, emotions are heightened to a vulnerable state. Over this retrograde, you may face some of your wilder emotions that compel you to act. Remember, Leo has an affinity for drama and theatrics. This sign does not encourage you to simply sit and journal about your feelings. It’s going to desire action. Just be sure that action honors who you are at your core. Expect some visible drama over this retrograde, and be prepared to react to it from your higher self. This includes drama you may cause or from others. It’s important not to get caught in the fires of this transit. Let your heart be heard, and listen to others’ hearts while remembering to connect with your breath and body. If you need space, go outside and stare at the sky. The expanded view will help you regulate your emotions and center your energy amongst any drama.
This retrograde is intense as it causes explosions from the heart. These explosions can range from rooftop serenades to dramatic displays of passion or passion gone wrong. If you’ve been betrayed in the past eight years, expect energies around the betrayal to surface. You may have a strong desire to get even, or you may just need to sit in your tub every morning and weep. Either way, if your heart has been betrayed, it will want to be heard this retrograde. Give it space and hold it as it heals. This time can be very healing for the heart. Any wounds, though, will need to resurface and be felt to be healed. This resurfacing can cause re-traumatizing and reprocessing. Be prepared for overwhelming feelings. If they come around, let your heart know that you hear it, you are here for it, and you understand. Treat your heart the way you’ve always wanted to be treated- with unconditional love, respect, and admiration.
Most importantly, be honest with yourself about your emotions. If you’re feeling something, allow it to unfold as needed. Do not try to hide your tears or pain. Let them be felt and even seen by others. This honestly will deepen your relationship with yourself and others. It will also let your heart know it’s safe to feel. If you allow any emotion to arise with love and compassion, you tell yourself that it’s ok to feel this way. You let yourself know that you are accepted and loved for all of your emotions, big and small. When you do this, emotions don’t feel so overwhelming and are more easily regulated. It’s ok to feel anything your heart needs to feel. Instead of hiding any emotions, lean into them, learn about them, and let them open the pathway to love.
There is also an opportunity in this transit to feel your inner queen (or king). Leo is the sign of royalty. Let yourself rule your life from your heart. Listen to your heart each day, meditate with it, ask it what it needs, and ask what it wants to do. Then show up for your heart. Let the love of your heart empower you to make needed decisions, stand up for yourself, and be the person you are meant to be. This retrograde is an opportunity to connect with your heart on the deepest level imaginable. Feel its strength, resilience, and power. Feel that when you live a life from your heart, you become unstoppable. You feel deeply, you love loudly, and you experience the beauty all around you. You also connect with new ways of loving yourself and others that are healing, break old patterns, and bring focus to your inner radiance. From July 22nd until September 3rd, lead with your heart. Every day ask what it wants to do and follow it. Stand by it and release any doubt. Trust your heart and trust that it knows the path forward.
As Venus enters its post-shadow period on September 3rd, focus on new connections of the heart. What patterns are ready to be formed that heal your heart and allow you to live in the vibration of love? Look at what relationships are forming or are ready to form. What or who are you now ready for in your life? What are you ready to attract into your life, and how can this energy support your heart? Be open to receiving love and beauty at this time. Let love into your life, and be willing to risk getting hurt for the chance of experiencing the highest love imaginable that brings you to the center of your being- the heart.

]]>Saturn, the planet of boundaries, restriction, and no as a full sentence will station retrograde in Pisces on June 17th, the day of the New Moon in Gemini. It will resume forward motion on November 4th, 2023. But remember, there’s nothing to fear about retrograde periods! Saturn, the ultimate planet of responsibility, stations retrograde every year for about 4.5 months, so this is familiar energy to all of us. But while it’s not necessarily major or rare news, it’s still a definite shift- and one that will be felt.
Saturn entered Pisces on March 7th, 2023 and will be traversing its watery expanse through early 2026. Saturn cycles are about 29.5 years, meaning the ringed planet hasn’t visited this amorphic, transcendent area of our charts since the mid-1990s. And while Saturn will station retrograde several times while in Pisces, this is the first time, which tends to set the tone for the following retrograde periods. The first retrograde of an outer planet is often most significant for the collective at large, but can also be felt individually.
Since Saturn entered Pisces in early March, it’s also been coupled with Pluto in Aquarius. We’ve seen major explosions in AI the past few months, as well as sudden changes in the banking industry. But Pluto has also recently stationed retrograde, re-entering Capricorn, signaling a larger, collective review period of these themes.
Saturn in Pisces can be thought of as a life raft with a lifetime guarantee. It assures us that if we build something solid enough to withstand the trials and tribulations (and many gifts!) of the collective unconscious, we will emerge successfully from the full circle journey…with plenty of learning lessons under our belt.
When Saturn retrogrades in Pisces, it signals a time where we might need to adjust the sails of our raft. Perhaps the tides have shifted, and now is the appropriate time to redirect our course. This Saturn retrograde period is a moment to reflect, review, and revise the structures that keep us afloat. Doing so will ensure they carry us to exactly where we’re meant to be- while also supporting the Universe’s plan for each soul onboard.
Because Saturn is motivated to climb the mountain to ultimately succeed, it’s an energy that can bring up shame when we don’t feel like we’ve reached the top/met our goals. Saturn retrograde periods are a great time to review the peaks you’re working towards, and what you’re doing on a regular basis to stay committed to the climb.
You can’t work with Saturn without considering boundaries, and Saturn Retrograde asks you to reconsider them. Notice what areas of life might need some new structure, and trust that every “no” makes room for a more aligned yes.
Saturn retrograde (especially in Pisces) is concerned with divine timing. This is a far cry from quick energy, and instead encourages us to slow down and feel every inch of the process. Notice what has worked out in your life due to diligently and patiently going with the flow… rather than fighting the current with brute force.
These horoscopes were written based on your rising sign. The rising sign indicates which house Saturn is currently transiting in your birth chart.

Saturn will station retrograde in your 8th house. This is an area of your life concerned about the resources you receive from other people, and the comforts (or discomforts) they bring you. Take note of where your expenditures are happening, and the return on investment you receive.
Saturn will station retrograde in your 1st house. This is an area of your life that embodies how you move through the world. Saturn retrograde through this space will bring up the commitments that are truly important to you.
